Question

Does a Owners Manual exist for the 77 S1 ? Not the Workshop manual , I have that. I have seen an Owners Manual for the S2 but have not found a reference to an S1 Owners Manual.

As early S1-drivers were supposed to be guinea-pigs, I doubt that Lotus Ltd. hassled with an Owner's manual... :)

I've got an Owners manual. Bought my 77 S1 from the original owner in April. Still sorting things out as he had not driven it in a few years.

Found it 15 minutes from my house and drove it home.

Talked to Lotus yesterday and there is a workshop manual for the S1. Pretty basic from what they tell me, but it is out there. The engineering department has a copy of every manual, there's quite a few! Couldn't sneak the S1 manual out though, sorry.

Maki 126,

Still new to this forum, and noticed this thread today.

Lotus did do a manual for the S1 - Publication Part Number is:

A079T 0342Z .

30 pages A5 size booklet, 1 black and white shot of the car, plenty of drawings.

Great reminder in the Precautions section "that drivers are rerecommended to avoid using high fashion shoes!"

Cheers,

Scott.
