  • ^ True. I once had a discussion on there about the merits of trail braking in a mid-engined car and the guy told me I had no clue. I asked him what he drove and said he was 16!

Sounds amazing and before anyone says here we go again, it is the final edition and only 20 future lucky owners.

I was wondering when the next iteration would come around. So these are the last 20 right?

It's been a while since JMG hinted at a swan song 3-Eleven, this one will take the Hethel lap crown back from the GT430 and Cup 430 I guess.

Looks like the dash is now layered in a glossy carbon fiber while I don't remember that piece being that glossy in the previous 3-11.

At first glance the cheapest way to get the brawny 430 engine (which will transform the car far more than the 20bhp increase suggests by the way). However to add the GT430's Ohlins TTX 2-ways and the titanium exhaust and one of the nice paint jobs will bring it to just shy of £115k. Exige 430 already comes with the Ti exhaust so is better value I believe.

This would be epic in good weather though. More linear power will really work wonders.

430bhp in that!

Lotus is bringing new meaning to drivers cars. Having witnessed a standard 3-11 at in the hands of a tame racing driver a few years ago (I want one!) the 430 is going to chew up anything GT from Stuttgart!p

Im loving this Lotus 70th anniversary. Bravo JMG, another absolute cracker!! :)

Clearly a mistake that I hope has been fixed already. Embarrassing.

I’d love to have one of these or even a “regular” 311. I tried one at Castle Combe and whilst it may not have been the ultimate on that day with the particular setup (too stiff) it was the most exciting car I’ve ever driven. An absolute assault on the senses and this must be another 5% on an already fantastic experience.

Trevor.

I'll get around to it at some point.

This. Seems a bit wrong with a normal manual...

Problem is the current Lotus choice of fast paddle shift (Xtrac) would be no good for the road, and the IPS is just an auto. If they could have a dual clutch system that was usable on road, super quick on track and didn't require expensive maintenance that would be great, something like Porsche's PDK, I think the weight penalty would be clawed back on track easily.

I think Komotec have a VW DSG system under development, but I wouldn't want to be chopping a 430 about with a new box.

Thats exactly what I think ... if one jumps the gun and goes first I am sure KT is willing to put the VW or BMW DKG in ...
