Lotus 18 Chassis colour

I am rebuilding a Lotus 18 - one of 6 that were exported to the US then Mexico in 1960.

I believe that these 6 has a BLACK chassis, not the usual battleship grey. Can anyone confirm this (black chassis) as I an getting ready to paint soon.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Graham,

Perhaps speak to the historic lotus register . Duncan Rabagliati Is the man in the know about 18’s I believe.

Hello Graham, probably not helpful but I was searching the forum for Lotus 18 because I have a rare 1/8 Lotus 18 and trying to find a new home for it. I believe this version represents Jim Clark's car from the 1960 Dutch GP and was made by RAE (UK). Mike
