That nasty one, just went to move the car and found out why. No brake fluid, no brakes! ummm

Its leaking from the driver side rear caliper, bit to dark at the mo to know why

takes time for the fueltanks to equalise. the float sensor is only on one side. does it happen when you're going downhill too? it's also your choke indicator, so make sure that switch mount isn't rattling. without more information, i'd say your symptoms are normal.

Never noticed low-fuel light flashing at going downhill. So others have also this flashy-thing?

I will check choke-switch rattling thing. Sometimes it's a bit scary when you accelerate and then flashing light comes ;)

it doesn't happen to me as much when the tank is full. but as a general rule, your fuel indicator can be off by over 1/4 of a tank. especially when the car is on an incline. i take very tight turns at 40mph so that affects the fuel warning lights too.

I had exactly the same problem with the fuel light and it was the sensor under the choke. Choke on and low fuel are on the same warning light so if the choke lever moves slightly or the wires are loose underneath these can make the light flash. Have a look under the choke switch you should see a plastic plunger connected to a switch. I simply disconnected the wire as I don't use the choke.

The Fuel indicator is notoriously rubbish!

It drifts around all over the gaffe as the petrol in the two tanks sloshes between them

You could have a half a tank, take a tight bend so it all sloshes over into one tank and suddenly you have less than a quarter of a tank and the light comes on... five minutes later and you're back to normal!

"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked him to forgive me."

if lotus actually hired engineers instead of disguised morris dancers, there would be a sensor in both tanks, and the gauge would display an average of the two. wouldn't necessarily need to be electronic either.

All that would have cost money , Lotus were on the verge of going under the whole Chapman period. Fred Bushell s juggling is the only reason any of us have these cars. ;)
