  1. hello and welcome, i know that you can adjust the gear shift, so maby there is the problem? or can you putt it in and then when you start to drive it fly's out? i wish you good luck!
  2. yess i have still 5 window lifters, if you need one or two no problem i will first try them before i sell them, because then i know that i sell a good one to you, can you send me a PM?
  3. and still the grey one is better, (what are i am a lucky man hahah) butt the paint work is very good on the red one, (butt its not orginal) before it was a blue elite, butt i give the grey elite a complete respray because... the owner before replaced everything, and blasted every metal part and after that he powder coated it so it looks very good! this car, butt he did not do the respray the body so good as i want it, there are many many new parts on this car, and it has a complete overhauled engine, (with new liners and pistons!) just look at the pictures. the car stand for over 10 years still, inside a dry room, so there is everywhere dust, and some metal parts who are not blasted and not powder coated that have a little bit rust on it, butt i can eat of the chassis, the car was body off, so they did a great job on this car, JUST TAKE A LOOK TO THE RADIATOR, AND THE BRAKE LINES, EVERYTHING IS REPLACED HERE BELOW! THE OLD LINES AND PISTONS LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS BOTH PLASTIC SIDE THINGS, ONE FROM MY GREY CAR, AND THE OTHER ONE FROM A CAR WHAT I BREAK DOWN... THE SUN WAS PLAYING WITH IT... THIS CAR HAS ALSO HIS ORGINAL AIR/INTAKE TO THE AIRBOX AND FILTER... MANY TIMES ITS ALLREADY GONE.. AND WHAT SHOULD BE NICER? A BLACK PLATE OR A WOODEN PLATE'? (I HAVE SO MANY BITS AND PARTS SO I CAN SEARCH IT OUT, REALY NICE IS THAT!) I KEEP THEY GREY ELITE... GREY BECAUSE ITS ORGINAL.. BUTT IF I COULD CHOSE I WANT THAT CAR WHITE, BECAUSE MY OTHER ELITE BEFORE WAS WHITE, IT LOOKS AMAZING!! AND THIS IS WHAT I DO WITH ENGLISH CARS WHEN I NEED PARTS...
  4. hellow there, (maby my english is not so good, i am sorry for that..) as you allready know i am a realy lotus elite fan, i owned allready 7 of these cars, and now i still have 2 cars, one of the 2 is allready restored butt the other one i just started, so i wanne share my experince with you together as a lotus (elite) enthousiast my age is 25 years old, and my dad bought a lotus esprit turbo se from 1990 he bought it back into 1996 (so i was there 9 years old..) and i grow up with this car, so the lotus feeling comes from my dad, and the first one i bought (when i was 22) was a english RHD car a 503, just because it was a cheap buy, and i never saw a elite before, butt i liked it so much i was 22 years old and i had a lotus!! so thats the reasion that i like the elite, and its still a very rare car, and then after 5 cars, (and after hours and hours of working on them) you know the car and start restore them (i also break down 2 cars.. just for spares) just first some pictures of my red elite LHD from 1976 how i bought it: and this is how it looks now.. and this leather goes back inside the grey elite from 1977: here are just some pictures of my red 1976 elite 501: MORE PICTURES WILL COME UP A OTHER TIME, CAR IS ALSO FOR SALE..
  5. i will make a other topic inside "projects & restorations" so we can speak about the cars there...
  6. I think thats a big job, i try allready many much options to get the shine back and all that other bad stuff on it, go away, butt polish it is not a option, just find some good ones, (yess they are very rare..) i have still a couple of sets (lucky man i am) butt i dont know if you can buy them new, the ones i got look very very good, and they are for sale.. butt if you can make them shine agian, please tell me how..
  7. Yess and i do it right now allready a couple of years (because i have now allready my 6th lotus car..) and my age is 25 years old.. so i think i am on the good way, i know this cars in and outside very well, and like to restore them back in ORGINAL condition, thats why i am only using LHD elite,s because they are rare, and when you have one, you can restore that car, because they are rare, and there are some people of searching just only for a LHD car, and not a RHD.. now i am busy with the leather interior, (looks as new now!!) from the grey elite, and putt everything back in.. i will make some pictures.. so you can see
  8. i am sorry Vulcan Grey, i will putt my car down there, then you can delete this topic, @USandretti: i am working much on this car and like to restore them, this is allready my 6th elite car butt my second then i am restoring, i have allready a other elite LHD waiting for me, to restore, and i have 4 lotus cars in bits/spares so i can make the good cars beautyfull its just a hobby of mine, and make new elite friends, and i find new owners for this cars...
  9. i strip down 4 lotus elite cars, so i have many bits to make your car running good agian, here some pictures: (and of course i have complete interior stuff and many many more..) AND ALL THE OTHER TRIM AROUND THE WINDOWS I HAVE 6 times so you can search out of them, some are as new, and that is very rare.. and just what i sad, i have many many more interior and doors oudsite and i dont know what from a lotus elite/eclat, JUST ASK ME....................................... greetings bauke
  10. great to see 2 cars on a meeting without knowing each-other!! the lotus elite shape comes back, i had the same on a event in the netherlands, just a classic car meeting, i was there with my elite and a other boy (also same age..) was there with his eclat, so i know him now very good and we are friends now, (both are we 25 years old) and both we have a lotus car, and like the same music so sometimes its good to meet other eclat-elite-excel drivers...
