  1. Hi Jeff No problem changing the sills, front spoiler, and bumpers back to S2 spec, the only problem would be the Turbo rear duct spoiler if fitted as often if people go for the 'Turbo' look they cut of the rear end and graft on a turbo one. This would be expensive to reverse. All panel are available through SJ Sportscars in the uk and he will dispatch to the states if required. S2 speedline wheels are easily available in the uk and fairly cheap. If you really want an S2 to look original you may find it cheaper to wait for an untouched car as to convert back may prove expensive. Regards Dave
  2. Hi Cracks are not a problem, fibreglass is easy to work with and help is here if required, I have done many repairs from complete esprit front ends to replace roof panels to remove those horrible 80's sunroofs. I am sure your car will look great when done and good move to ask for photos as the last thing you want is body filler due to sinkage and possible future cracking. The real trick is getting the paint match right with small repairs. Hope all goes well Dave
  3. Hi Carlos Nice looking car and I like the uprated interior, the tartan is not to everyones taste although very popular these days, strange these current values as the same happened in the 80's with E types being worth £50k, the market boomed and everyone started restoring cars which had been sat around for years, then suddenly the market was flooded with them, you can pick good ones up now from £12k. The only true way to get the value of these cars is to use selling formats like ebay as this gets the true current market value. Essex 007 is a prime example after being for sale at £16K for months and far more rare than the 700+ S1 cars built, this car is one of a few left and the seller has finally listed on ebay with no reserve, that car will now sell for its true value. Best of luck with your sale and I am sure a bond fan will make you an offer. Regards Dave
  4. What an intresting car Phil, what are your plans for the completed rebuild? Did it have the Vegali clocks or the S2 black ones? What type of trim was it in? Looks like you are doing a fine job but have a lot to do, are you keeping it silver? Cheers, Dave
  5. Hi Chris Well done mate, seems like a life time ago I spoke to you about the restoration, at the time you had just bought the car and I thought you were out of your depth! You have done a great job and seemed to have learnt a load. Glad you went with orange in the end as it suits the S1. It has been over 7 years since I did a restoration like that with my S1 and it brings back fond memories and many late nights. Like to get back in contact and help if I can, Rhys has kept me updated now and again. Cheers Dave (Dockyard) davidjnoble@blueyonder.co.uk
  6. Hi Guys, New to this Forum, The Sherwood S1 is a nice looking car but not worth that kind of figure especially with a sunroof cut into it..... I used to own Ken Bairds S1 which I restored after being laid up for many years. I sold him that car for around £8k about 7 years ago. I also sold a black S1 which needed restoring 18 months ago for £3500 with a poor intrerior but running and driving well. I am currently after another one to fully restore, the yellow one looks great but isn't really a restoration project as looks great and very original. I owned anothe S1 about 15 years back which had been fitted with a Turbo kit, saw it for sale last year for £6k, trouble as always when they have had this treatment is getting the wolfrace wheels. I did check on a Orange one last weekend down Cornwall which had been stored in a barn, very rotten and not been on the road since 1984, I saw this one at the same time as I had TNR 160R, the guy was out so will have to re-visit, back then he wanted £2k which at the time was alot considering all the metalwork and fuel tanks were shot, I couldn,t check the chassis due to grass etc.
