  1. Fantastic! Its good to see so many Esprit drivers makin the effort!
  2. Im.yet to see.the day any of us get there on time! It usually ends up bein half9 :-P
  3. Hw to gaydon is about an hour, especially on the m40 which is a mice empty road on a Sunday morn... If you guys come off at jct12, turn left at the.top of the slip road, 300 yards down theres an island,, turn left and theres a.petrol station just tyere on the left. Ill meet you there at9 then take you up to breakie. Licences will be safe I know.the roads and there is only one camera on route..... John, youll be sober fine enough by the time you get up here
  4. If you aim to be at jct 12 m40 for 9qm, gaydon jct, ill meet you there. Hill top is only a few mins away
  5. Yes, but obviously the n/a system isnt subject to quite the issues of the turbo system....ive also seen mikes (lotusbits) dyno testing data last year. He again uses Northampton Motorsports to develop his rally car/product on, a well established and proven company.
  6. Ok, well see who else is.comming from where and sort something out. Im on the m40side of the world, but ill assume ud be m1 then m45?
  7. Guilty by association Trevor! Looks like its going to be a positive turnout! So is anyone heading up from the south of.the world or east? If you are, then I could rondevous with you for.those that havent been before and show the way...jon? Is it.looking like a heavy sat night :-P
  8. I must be thinking of a different manifold then regarding the.joints...but I would find it.odd if no data is available..but we shall wait.to see what can be found I guess..
  9. I do hope anyone reading realises this is just harmless banter...and as a disclaimer ' no other lotus' will be harmed in the running of this group and the plan to blow up parliment on monday may not actually happen. Any similarities to any events are purely circumstantial'
  10. Ah sorry derek misread there...thought you meant against other replacements..even so that would make interesting viewing as on previous threads its been found manufacturers claims to be somewhat hopefull and unfounded in certain things...but I digress. Well as a manifold manufacturer it would only be logical to have done such a basic comparison on their product vs standard otherwise any claims could be unsubstantiated...in my opinion of course. Yes if mark can shed any light? On another note, the revised version mentioned earlier in the thread... Is that the 'sectional' version I think ive read about..cant rekember where now...that is assemble on the car in a few sections with clamps joining them up? If I remember right this was to get over tye clearance and assembly in situ issues with the first design..if so this would allow more room for failure nd leaks surely? Also mentioned somewhere above is the use. Of composite gaskets and something about silicon sealer? Without reading back I cant remember quite the reference..but if so surely this is a 'solution' to poor mating faces or flange design/finish...questions not aimed at you derek just generally at the masses!
  11. True, but if someone is selling a desing then surely they have done dyno runs and development, using the same engine, to show pre manifold, ie on the original setup, and then runs using their design..as it is developed up to the final unit. Which would show the complete data...the point I was asking is have they this data to show? It doesnt matter at the moment about comparing it to other manifolds, until data is available for another unit...which im sure shortly it will. So, does this company have this data to share does anyone know?
  12. Is that in the name of North Midlands England Group or North Midlands Esprit Group :-P
  13. Well thats all part of designing a manifold to do a.job well, but are there any dyno results showing how it.improves the flow characteristics of.the engine, its possible power and torque differences to standard, how it affects the turbos.spooling, and not just top end figures...how.throughout the rev range it.affects the dynamics.of.the engine whether they be good or bad? Thats the information that needs to be shown so people who want to change manifolds, like myself not for having a faulty cast one but because I want a more efficient system, can compare between whats available. Whilst I wouldnt doubt it could make improvements, the quality, extent and. Practical use of such improvements needs to be clarified with reliable comparison data...
  14. What are the dyno testing results of the manifold? How many agressive runs on the dyno has it made? The inclusion of gaskets and studs shouldnt really be a selling point on this item surely?
  15. Well could we pretend my yellow car is actually blue and everyone else is mistaken? But seriously though..i agree it is a shame no ones come forward for the last few places. Simply not sporting....
  16. Dont worry eddie well be there as well! We just cant wait a whole month inbetween breakfasts :-P I dont think were the popular.front of.Judea though
  17. That is the shit innit? What an awesome video, even if such a system never came to light..
  18. Of course your welcome! Its always nice to meet fellow addicts! The weekend after is the lotus drivers club meet, so a more varied selection of lotus there, if your free that sunday maybe pop along...and yes its the hill top farm just by hunningham on the hill, on the fosse way far side of leamington..
  19. Because we do a meet each month combined with the Lotus Drivers Club enabling anyone who wants to attend to do so and making it a nice variety of cars...But as were all passionate esprit owners its nice to share our dysfunction and feel normal for a few hours Whilst we would never shy away from any enthusiast joining in, and are always welcoming new faces, it has been apparant over the last year or two that active members in our area seem to be predominantly Esprit owners....or at least ones that we come across! As such, we try to keep active and in touch as a group, showing that its not just Elise/Exige owners who have a decent active and frequent social circle..for example. With regards to other models, Elite, Eclat, Excel, classic Elan, those owners would appear to attend the more traditional events, particularly with Club Lotus or other Classic mixed group organisations..more show orientated. Obviously this is just a generalised observation...but it shows the idea.

  21. Well thanks. Its helped a few people so far, so its been a success. If you do have any questions, just send me a PM and ill help as much as I can
  22. Ok an idea there. That would probably make a two hour drive for Ian commin up from Oxford though. Where abouts are you Alex?
  23. Ok, so its looking like well settle on the 2nd December. Ive spoken to paul gt3 who is unable to make either date for prior commitments unfortunately. Next to decide is.destination. If a central location is prefered, then I can scout out a few places. If anyone has any suggestions of somewhere good near them or elsewhere within a reasonable distance of us all to travel, please let me know and we can get the ball rolling.
  24. Are you sure it wasnt just an updated re run production of a standard type manifold for the g turbo, maybe with a few updates to material or webbing design, as opposed to a fully developed and tuned power handling unit?
