  1. Toby, good to hear from you...I used to take my porker to meriden for its servicing...but this beast will be 100% home loved! Im aiming for a smoother more efficient drive out of all this as opposed to chasing high figures...I take it your local somewhere...would be good to see what other routes youve gone to with your car if you around...all insight is welcome in my opinion! Darren
  2. Yes the return is easy enough as it only connects with hose clips to flexi hoses but the flares are proving difficult. Simon if you can dig something out that would be grand...Ive contacted a place in Balsall Common here in coventry who may be able to help me...we shall see when I get chance to drop them over. ALthough as its known the rack is from a Saab surely it cant be impossible to find someone able to make them. The search continues.....
  3. Simon, thanks for the info... could you tell me though..did they make new flared ends to connect to your rack and the flexi hose at the engine end, or did the cut off yours and reuse them? I did already this about making up a set of braided ones using my existing ends....although Id prefer new if I could. thanks darren
  4. Well Im sure Im not the only person who has decided to change the metal pipes that run under the car to the power steering...and have found out they are now obsolete!! I had to cut the pressure feed one off as it wouldnt budge from the flexi pipe (engine end) and I had to cut through the pipe that is the return from the rack ( the one that goes up and over the coolant hoses)....so now Im stuck. Ive been to a few places in coventry and no one can make up new ones because of the specialised ends on it..a wierd flange and o-ring affair. Having read as many posts on here..most of them a few years old now regarding this, has anyone in the UK so far managed to find someone who can make up new ones? The main return that goes under the car os not a problem as it just connects to flexis, but the pressure feed and the short metal and flexi return from the rack need to be replaced! I know DeRoure list the main one at some 160 quid...surely there must be a cheaper alternative supplier! Would really appreciate any help on this!! Thanks darren
  5. Guys, ok this has no doubt been covered on various models..but everyone has an opinion! basically, to go with a few other minor improvements on my rebuild of my S4, I want to upgrade the injectors. Obviously the particular ones would need to be matched to my requirements and set up..so basically its a 1995 S4, stock but healthy 54k miles engine. Brand new but standard turbo, SJ sports exhaust, I will be replacing the cat with a sports one too..excepting Lanari anyone any opinions on the source?...KN filter, upgraded chargecooler rad with electric pump to ensure cool runnings :0, triple core coolant rad and I believe Ill be going for a number 3 chip too. So basically I was thinking of leaving the secondary injectors as standard as Im not upping my boost, and just change the primarys..so any ideas on the most suited or tried and tested ones? Ideally in the UK to be honest! But if I have to talk to Uncle Sam I shall.... Cheers for the Im sure very good advice in advance! Darren
  6. Thanks, Ive msg Dave.. Im sure some Guru shall divuldge the solution to my ideas....As my first Esprit...that Ive owned for a month now...(and havent even driven yet!!!) Im finding it fascinating having either took apart ,or planning to take apart over the next few months, pretty much everything to see whats going on..and its good reading up on all the knowledge out there.. If there is anyone around the Nuneaton/Coventry area with a wealth of knowledge to pass onto a new disciple, the force flows strong in me
  7. Hello all! Im looking to replace my S4 chargecooler/aircon rad while everything is apart...does anyone have a new one stashed away anywhere?? OR even better...has anyone in the UK replaced the combined unit with seperate more efficient ones.... Ive been looking into that route and so far its seems just NON UK owners have done this..which doesnt help me determin what parts or suppliers to use here in the UK! I did speak to my local radiator chap whos built me a 3core radiator and he said he could rebuild the existing chargcooler/aircon rad but it worked out no cheaper than buying a new one from, say, SJ. I would prefer to upgrade to more modern efficient units, along with better cooling fans as well..... Any experiences or ideas chaps? thanks!!
  8. Hello, Sorry Im in the UK, just near Coventry...but I dont mind travelling to collect some parts. Yes I bid on the chargecooler but was outbid at the last minute...
  9. Hello there,,,,Im currently stripping and rebuilding much of my 1995 S4... and am looking to anyone who has any new spares lying about..getting in the way, causing trouble with the missus..Allow me to solve the problem! Specifically at the moment Im looking for a new radiator, new chargecooler/air con combined rad, Ive got all my suspension and brake components.... unless you have any new rear brembo calipers?... and Im sure there will be other items Ill need but havent thought of yet.. erm..pipes? etc...if you have anything do get in touch as I may well need them! my email is darren_galloway@hotmail.com Thanks for your time!
  10. Hello there! As a newbie Esprit owner Ive decided before I drive the car for the first time to do a full nut and bolt overhaul of my 1995 S4 suspension, brakes and cooling systems etc..we dont want any hiccups to ruin the dream now . But my question is this. Can anyone tell me the brake pipe diameter and whether the thread is metric or imperial? Im looking to make up my own replacement cupro pipes. Thanks!! Darren
