  1. Cheers guys, much appreciated for the heads up on those shows. I'll will certainly make an effort to go to at least a few, hope that national esprit show comes off. Thanks again:)
  2. Cheers dude, I have looked at the calendar, just wondered if there were a couple of must do shows?
  3. How do, My S2 is coming along nicely and I'm hoping to go to a few shows next Summer and was wondering what are the shows I can frequent? I mean they don't have to be specific shows to Lotus, I love cars and enjoy seeing other makes and models so question is where and when are they shows? Cheers, Charlie:D
  4. Actually it proved to be a ridiculously easy fix. Turned out to be a bolt that was missing the nut, removed the bolt, and replaced with a washer bonded to the inside of the pod to centralise the bolt. Once the new bolt and nut was in place the pod fits flush and true to the body. Well happy
  5. Well to be honest it was in answer to a previous thread I put out, 'Car slightly lower drivers side'. As all my bushes and springs seem to be good nick I thought a possible solution to evening out any droop would be adjustable shocks, it may be over kill but looks a bit cack when you are rolling down the road droopy! Anyway been installing my sound system this weekend haven't had time to look further into it. Car is starting to come together, few more months and it will be ready for paint:)
  6. Haha, I've also removed and glassed filled my antenna from the side of the car, this might be an option!
  7. That's what Steve at SJ told me that they are not height adjustable. Been digging around the internet, could this be the solution, drop the supplied coils, use my existing coils but use the cups and adjusters from this kit? It might just work with a bit of fettling?
  8. Thanks guys, I reckon it's the dimmer then, will need to investigate further though, thanks for the heads up;)
  9. Height, is the main aim as well as stiffening the ride a touch. Doesn't seem as if there are any solutions out there though.
  10. Hi, my dash board lights don't come on, I take it each of the dials have a separate light? How do I get to the lights in the case it is a bulb change? Thanks
  11. Source an undamaged roof section, not easy but they are out there. Mark out the area you need to cover. Cut out that section. Keep the old section as you need this cavity to mark out and cut a sheet of aluminium to bond to your roof. Mark and cut the aluminium sheet to cover the cavity, be generous either side of the cut. Bond the sheet to the underside of your car roof. Now from the underside drill holes all around the edge and using self tapping screws, screw and pull down the aluminium until it meets firmly with the roof fibreglass and the bonding adhesive is in full contact. Let the adhesive cure over night. Now bond the cut out roof section to the aluminium. Let that cure over night. Now remove the screws and rivet the underside of the roof to secure the new section into place. With the new section securely in place you can begin sanding. The next process is simply filling and sanding until you find the contour, where the skill and talent comes in;) Keep sanding filling until your are satisfied. And there you have it. Obviously my car will get a full respray (the black satin is temporary) as soon as I have finished off a few other body repairs.
  12. Can you get coil overs for an S2, I see SJ's do adjustable rear shocks but they are not fully adjustable? Thanks
  13. Saggy pivot it is then, I'll have to leave that until my complete resto. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. HI Guys, My S2 has a saggy pivot (worn fibre glass, looks to be missing a washer of some sort) on my left light pod. Is there an easy fix without removing the pod, really don't fancy taking it all apart. Any advice and photos of fixes would be great, thanks Charlie;)
  15. Interesting, my bushes seem to be intact, in any case I need to have a better look at my suspension and investigate the issue better. Thanks
  16. Seems logical and a relatively easy fix. Removing the bushing from the left side would level things out, might be worth a try as it can be easily put back as suggested in the thread above^. Thanks again:)
  17. Just a note to anyone with the same problem, after looking at the thread 'how to replace the red hose' I read that you still have to heat wrap the braided hose. So rather than changing the red for braided I simply wrapped the red hose with heat shield and to my amazement I am getting good results. I can't say at this is a 'fix' for the problem but it is a really cheap way to improve selecting reverse without going to all the trouble and expense of going to braided hose.
  18. Just noticed that my car is slightly lower at the drivers side than the passengers side. I take it that would be 30 odd years of sag due to the driver, would new springs sort this out? Thanks
  19. Hi, how to you guys go about getting 'Special Tools' for a particular job. Is is a case of buying the said tool or borrowing? I will need to replace an output shaft seal shortly and will need the special tool that is required for the job. Anyone have one or made one up for this purpose? Thanks.
  20. I reconnected mine, one pull up and it starts first time, every time, none of the 3-6 pumps of the accelerator pedal. An easy fix that works.
  21. Thanks, I've made my cut out as suggested, going to the garage this Friday.
  22. Yes I did mean that tube. So what seal do I need to change? Thanks Would it be the output oil shaft seal as pictured?
  23. Just a follow up to this thread, I've noticed a lot of oil coming from the gear drain tube since the oil change, anyone know if this will ease?
