Thanks for the information. It seems either route should be okay, so I just need to decide whether I want to spend more time on the road or the ferry. The Portsmouth to Caen crossing is 6 hours, but it does knock 400 miles off the round trip.

I'm planning to take my 2-11 across to the continent for the first time later this year (Le Mans track day) and am currently weighing up whether to go through the tunnel or take the Portsmouth to Caen ferry. Anyone have any advise on either route? Do I need to to make any special arrangements when booking due to the low ground clearence? Am I being Paranoid

I look in from time to time and find the historical information useful. It's a shame there's not more activity, but I guess 2-11's are very rare. I find it useful to have the 2-11 specific stuff in one place. I'll start posting some stuff - even if I end up talking to myself
