  1. Just ordered a kit from PNM today - 3 different kits available, most comprehensive one is about £360. Made sense to do this while the engine is out for belts, mounts, tanks etc etc
  2. Well.... engine and trans out and on the bench! Not a pleasant job, siezed mounting bolts etc and that pas low pressure pipe.... Anyway, cracking on with it tomorrow. Loads to do, belts and tensioners, trans seals, clutch spigot bearing, plugs etc. The turbo to cat pipe studs are shot, so they need to come out. Engine and trans mounts shot too. Amazing after 27000 miles! Going to do the fuel tanks too. There seems to be some slack in the intermediate drive if you rock the crank pulley back and forth - is that normal? Oh, thanks for the manual link! Paul
  3. Managed to get some drill blanks in the correct sizes, so they will be ideal for doing the job. I'll make up the crank locking tool once the engine is out. Oh yes, out it comes! Gives me a chance to have a look at the fuel tanks to prevent future problems. Need to check the spigot bearing too. Also the manifold and turbo nuts and studs. Any sources of nuts for the turbo? £16 a piece from Lotus..... Might make some out of stainless and double nut to lock them.
  4. Brilliant! What diameter are the drills? The angle is not a problem - I have a Snap On gyroscopic torque wrench - just dial up the required angle , turn the bolt/crank etc and it bleeps/vibrates when you get to the angle!! I do have a manual and 40 years of motor trade experience including dozens of cam belts - but not this one - so it should be ok -ish. The frequency /sound bit is easy as I have a Gates sonic belt tensioner or I can use my guitar tuner. All covered thanks! Oh, any ideas on the transmission seal installer tool? Can't go by the old ones as the previous owner has installed them incorrectly..... Anyone come up with a bearing number for the tensioners / guides? Got to be cheaper than the oem ones.....
  5. Hi everyone. Just joined and now looking to do a few bits and pieces. Has anyone a set of timing tools they could sell/ lend to me? I would like to borrow some so I can make my own set. Also could do with the transmission seal tools too. Or maybe if anyone has the drawings of the above? Has anyone thought of creating a tool loan system for forum members? Thanks! Paul
