  2. Hello Paul/Barrie Thanks for the advice. My car has had it's tanks already replaced. Just gone through the service history and the belts were changed at 24k and have been checked anually since. Car has now done 38k, so 10k off a belt change. Will call Gerald nearer the time. Thanks, David.
  3. Hi, I live in Nottingham and I'm looking to get my belts done, plus need a service on my V8 Esprit. Can anyone recommend anybody? I don't mind travelling a bit. Does the Lotus factory still do service work? Can't find any link to it on Google etc. Cheers, David.
  4. Hello Gunter, Thanks for your detailed reply. I will take a look this weekend and report back. Many Thanks, David.
  5. Hello Gunter, Thanks for your reply. When I purchased the car the owner said it was the air con pump was making the noise but could be something else. When the car is started from cold the noise is not there. After about 4 mins the noise starts. It's like a high pitch mettalic noise which comes and goes at any revs. The air con dosn't work and it makes no difference turning the air con on or off. I will take a closer look this weekend. Could be heat shields??
  6. http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/19049-replacing-v8-ac-compressor/ Just found this old post which explains things.
  7. Hello, Just purchased my first Esprit V8. Great car love it too bits. I hate to ask a question on my first post but here goes...... I need to replace the air con compressor because it makes a loud high pitch mettalic noise on tick over. Think it's a dry bearing or something? Anyway is it possible to replace the compressor with the engine in place or do you have to remove the engine. Also what is the usual price for a cambelt change? Kind Regards, David.
