I guess casting would need enlarged mould compared to the actual machined items, due to shrinkage as the metal solidifies and cools, but that should be easy enough to factor in, then final machining to the standard size anyway.

When Steve posted LVT, I had to Google in the context of flooring, but had similar thoughts as you Andy re luxurious compared to what other vinyl tiles.

I don't know you're age @Steve V8 but perhaps they're thinking that men of a certain age have to worry about their bladder capacity. 😁 I recall many years (OK many DECADES) ago, I must have been about 10 or 11 and somebody was fitting a new heating system, I made him a coffee using instant and hot water with some milk, later Mum arrived home and did him another, but made with hot milk no water. next time he was offered one he specified made with water, so that milk one must have been awful. perhaps you dodged a bullet and may have had a flow of awful drinks to avoid.

I went to do a little job on the "fully restored" Excel. Headlights are like two P**holes in the snow, so I could try upgraded lamps, new reflectors (so new bowls as well) and uprated lamps or conversion to LED plus new bowls, so latter it is. Take out the headlights and pods, only to find that the body respray was done but the structural fibreglass was left rotten. OK another job to the list that should be non-existent. Modifying the pods ready for the bowls, and my spine has seized up so I can't even stand to fit the bowls to the pods let alone put the pods back in. FFS.
