Hi. I’m doing new bushings all around on my 87 G Turbo Esprit and have discovered the previous owner did kind-of a shoddy weld repair on the lower wishbone forward pivot arm. Reason why unknown. When I removed the lower wishbone the two pivot points are not in alignment with each other. Comparing to the other side it is obviously not correct. I can probably bend and tweak a little bit to get it pretty close and then take measurements to see where it’s at.
This got me thinking about changes to the front lower wishbone over the years that the experts can shed light on and what options I have if I decide to replace the arm.
I know there was a chassis change mid-89ish...Was there a chassis pivot mount change? Were the lower wishbones redesigned with any caster or track width changes?
I also know the very latest version had a conical front bushing change, but are the rest of the arm measurements the same?
Mostly curiosity.
Thanks for any info on lower wishbone differences.
