  1. Ordered SSC last night. They are out of stock on one part so won't get posted until Monday. Excited. Now just need need to decide which exhaust ?
  2. Ok no worries There are hardly any videos of the 2bular track system about are there. I know its subjective but would you say car felt faster with SSC? or does it just feel faster because you can hear supercharger?
  3. Fortis Do you have a video of showing sound of your setup please. I am interested in the exhaust and the Induction Kit. Until reading this post I was not aware of the SSC induction kit and was seriously debating the Komotec induction and EX370 but by time i add everything up its over £1000 more than simply getting the SSC induction kit which as far as i can tell is the same as the lotus Motorsport setup (apart from not carbon - someone please correct me if wrong). Cheers
  4. Hi Dave I assumed your exhaust would simply mimic the standard one i.e. at 4500 revs the valve is open regardless and so unless its no louder than stock it would still tip you over noise restriction for track days? Your exhaust does sound nice however. do you have a decibel reading at the usual 3/4 revs 0.5m 45 degree test please? I think i read one of your posts elsewhere.. do you have the lotus motorsport induction kit? cheers
  5. Hi I have had my Exige for nearly 2 years now and have been wanting to buy some mods for a longtime but always had the thought in back of head about warranty and also wanted to see is any reliability issues arose once people stuck a few miles on their modded cars, but from what I have read on forums such as this these modded cars seem to be holding up very well. So I thought i may start with the basic EX370 upgrade but wondered if anyone has? and whether it would be worth a 500 miles round trip to have fitted and remap done? with a view to going to EX430 later. I have also been wanting an exhaust for a long time but I want something loud for road and quiet for track and as yet nobody has come up with a solution although I have spoke with 2bular recently. I could start a whole other topic on this but the major thing i was missing when wondering why i couldn't get an exhaust and just isolate vacuum hose to exhaust valve to keep it quiet for trackdays (assuming with valve shut it was still up to job) was that the exhaust valve is fail open so if you pulled vac hose or fuse to solenoid it would stay open. So anyway.. any thoughts on EX370 would be appreciated. Cheers
  6. When I read the 30 hours comment above I thought that can't be right but a quick Google reveals it is in fact right. Agreed then. Offseting the likely £3k bill against a new care might be better idea
  7. If an LSD means that much to you then why not just fit one to current car? http://www.hangar111.com/shop/lotus-exige-v6-s-gearbox-clutch/618-exige-evora-s-v6-komotec-limited-slip-differential.html
  8. Yeah. That's what I thought. Should be fairly simple. Less weight, better cooling of engine bay and to me the car looks a bit meaner so would be a nice little mod.
  9. Hi i wondered the same thing about retrofitting to existing V6S but got the reply back. I have discussed the issue of retro fitting the new improved gear change to your Exige but unfortunately they are not compatible. This is due to some bonding and chassis changes needed to accommodate the gear shift unit. Also the switch gear is different and will need extensive modifications to your exciting harness. so that is a shame. Also they don't have an after sales price for the louvred boot lid yet either. ?
  10. 211 SC. can you make any further comments about you track system please? what does it sound like over standard? what decibels are you recording on trackdays please? i have watched your video a few times now and the more i listen the more i like the sound of it. do you have any others please? also, does anyone have the add on silencers on the road system? what db do they give? any videos please? cheers
  11. That track system sounds nice but it doesn't sound that loud. I basically want a "track" system but with a silencer bypass for the road. Then on track days just disconnect valve. I only really do 105db days too so the track system I'm sure would be fine for them? Also... For out and out power surely a system which has no silencing/restriction is best I.e. Jim's "road" system?
  12. has anyone got a 3/4 revs 0.5m away decibel reading with the valved sytem please? i have a sound meter if anyone is in teesside area. the standard one is just shy of 105 db at 3/4 revs, 45 degrees, 50cm away
  13. i think the current valved system is virtually the holy grail it would just be great to be able to quantify back pressure with valve shut against a standard exhaust with it open. this is surely the answer (spec that silencer as track friendly) and away you go. exige owners will have more room too as that cat aint there.
  14. I think your basically saying what everyone else is... i.e. you want it loud for road (valve open) but quiet for track (valve shut) but the complication / problem is with valve shut you get more back pressure which is bad for engine. i think the golden egg that jim could produce would be the valved system with the track silencer and not take the valve open route through silencer. then for trackdays people could just disconnect the valve so it doesnt get opened via ecu at 4500 revs. from what i have seen of Saj system that is basically setup im describing. maybe it just need a wider silencer to get noise down. Come payday il be ringing jim up to order something. just dont know exactly what yet...
  15. Thanks for the responses. Maybe i wasnt clear. my question really is.... is the standard exhaust with valve open more restrictive than the 2bular valved system with it shut? if it is (more restrictive) then keeping the valve shut for trackdays (on 2bular) would have no adverse effects on engine. anyone got a piccy of inside the 2bular one? The whole noise restrictions at trackdays really grinds my gears!! if you dont want noise. dont buy a house next to a track.. unless they built the track after the houses were there I dont know how people can argue against the noise... grrrr... anyway rant over..
  16. What can I say... I WANT! My situation is the same as others have mentioned however, i do maybe 2/3 trackdays a year but really love a loud (so you can hear it in the cabin) exhaust. I have been wondering for a while whether the valved system with the valve forced shut all the time for trackdays would be too restrictive for the engine. Has anyone tried this? I dont know enough about exhausts to understand what is going on inside the silencer on the valved system compared to the non-valved one to see that it would do any harm. Hopefully someone can explain. It looks as though the solution might be the add on silencers but that brings increased hassle and cost and if that could be avoided them im sure Jim would be even busier. any advice would be appreciated.
  17. Sorry for bombarding with questions but been quite excited since finding this thread. Does the kit you buy through dealer include the little breathers to for the things that are connected to standard airbox, that this induction kit doesnt seem to cater for.. cheers
  18. Ok. Sounds like a decent mod then. It's a shame they don't do a non carbon fibre one for half the money for the "regular" v6. They would be flying out the door. Alias 23, was the car you had a go in completely standard apart from the induction kit please? Cheers
  19. Great Thanks. How have you found yours? Worth the money? Did you get decent sound from it?
  20. Milton1. Are there any updates on this kit? How soon before it will go on sale. I will Defo take one as soon as they are ready (assuming they aren't extortionately expensive) Cheers
