  1. Garage is my preference as my car knowledge isn't great and i like the extra security, i think patience is the key, that and more money
  2. I had actually inquired about this one but it has already sold. I have no idea why dealers keep putting sold cars up
  3. Yes i had seen this, i was going to post asking if anyone knew the car. My preference was buying from a dealer but i may have to explore other options. I'm a bit wary when they are car park pictures and the description is vague
  4. don't worry, part of me was wishing you were going to tell me a magical way of getting one cheap!
  5. Sound's interesting, will do. Thanks
  6. No, that's not what i did. I don't like to waste people's time. The email actually went something like this "I am looking for a lotus Evora and have XXX to spend, I would love to come to your dealership 250 miles away, have a test drive and potentially buy the car. If however you cannot accept offers around XXX i will not waste your time and mine." I would think it is better to be upfront about what are willing to spend and not waste their time and yours by going to test drive a car hours away which you are not going to buy. I drove to the other end of the country when buying my 350z after first agreeing a price without issue. when i arrived the car was as described i test drove it and it was fab so i brought it at the agreed price. If a car was closer i would obviously go and discuss in person. Maybe i am doing this wrong...
  7. i would be if i had £36k spare, I put in my best offer and it did not go down well . Ive been looking for the last 3-6 months but only to get an idea of prices spec's etc now i have market watches pinging me for every new car as i am ready to buy. Now its just a case of waiting for the right car or saving more until i can afford the right car.
  8. I agree when i buy my car i try to get a sweet spot regarding age, mileage and cost. Its not about the absolute monetary value. Of coarse you can always say well for just £2k more, but that is only valid if you have the £2k to spend. Most people i know start their search near the top of their budget then start looking. I think you are right, i need an 07 Evora .
  9. I agree, for me i feel the best Evora (at the lower end of the market) in terms of bang for your buck is around £36k. My problem is not having £36k to spend on an Evora right now. If the early models were around £27k-£28k then I feel the value is equivalent and have no problem spending the money. I think this at say £34-35k would be great value.
  10. I guess i am hoping someone will offer me an Evora for £27500, so... any offers ....
  11. Totally I am not saying what is happening is wrong, I'm just frustrated them bottom end of the market is so compressed and i am venting my frustration. It is the same with any car that is in low supply and is desirable. I guess i will wait and purchase something newer in the future.
  12. i agree with you to a point, if the demand was that high the cars would sell quickly but they are not, but i think the dealers are happy to sit on them as they know someone will be willing to pay £31k eventually.
  13. Like @daveofedinburgh (here) I to am looking for an early Evora NA and have become exasperated at the pricing of these early cars compared to newer models. Now i am sure people are going to tell me about the strong market for these cars, the low supply and how the depreciation has stopped but... From the point of view of a buyer why would i spend £31000 on a 59 NA with 48000 miles on the clock compared to £36000 for a 12 S with 24000, surly everyone would pay the extra? To me a launch model now should be around £27-28k with average millage. With these prices i am just having to wait and save more and my pockets are burning! Now go on, I am ready to be ridiculed...
