  1. Japan Racing SL01 in 17x8 ET25 and 18x9,5 ET 25. Love the looks and the stance 😊
  2. Has anyone got their hands on Bridgestone POTENZA RE-71RS? They are available in the correct size for 410/420/430, should be as quick as Yoko A052, and last longer as well. Plus the price, at least in the US, is very good. Already submitted a question about whether they are available in Europe. Review here: https://youtu.be/6IUUNMJddJU?si=dQUZhl4MlGzoFaSb
  3. Guys running 215/295s, isn't the car even more prone to understeer? Do you compensate for the fat rear tires with any damper setting for example?
  4. Hi guys, So aerieperformance.com now has a promotion going and the black forged wheels are now for grabs for $1833 https://aerieperformance.com/products/copy-of-lotus-exige-v6-forged-wheels-black If you are interested talk to Jason at info@aerieperformance.com (and please report back if you strike a deal
  5. Thanks. I have a chance to buy Hankooks TD Z221s in 295/30 R18 - they should be the ultimate semi, even better than Trofeos, which I like but they just melt away on a hotter day.. Right, 6.9 kg/9.2kg according to Komotec. The size does not bother me. As mentioned above, these will be road wheels and I will run them on 265s which is plenty for the road.
  6. Hi Tex, what size of AR1s are you running? How do they compare to Cup2s on track?
  7. FYI, got a reply from US-based Aerieperformance re: https://aerieperformance.com/products/copy-of-lotus-exige-v6-forged-wheels-black The wheels are the same size, ET, and weight as OEM 420/430 ones. The price: USD 2117, and shipping is around USD 500. Also available in gold, silver, red, or diamond cut So depends on the local import tax, but I think it's a great offer. I already chose elsewhere but perhaps this might come in handy for someone
  8. OK, after a couple of days of research, I went for Japan Racing SL01 wheels: https://jr-wheels.com/category/sl01 Why I chose them: 1. They are light! 17x8 = 8.3kg, 18x9,5 = 8,6 kg (compare to stock forged wheels = 7,5 kg / 9,1 kg) 2. They should be strong, thanks to flow forming 3. You can customize your ET at little additional cost - I went for 17x8 ET25 and 18x9,5 ET 25 4. They are cheap - EUR 1100 for a set incl. bolts 5. They should be delivered in a week or so despite the custom specs 6. They look pretty great I will report back after fitting 🤞
  9. I only found Teams Dynamic for Elise / S2 Exige. What about these? https://www.seriouslylotus.com/v6-exige-ultralight-forged-alloy-wheels They have OEM look, the same as these from Komotec but are a fair bit cheaper and the fronts are even lighter
  10. I would be super happy with another OEM set, just don't feel like spending another 3300 EUR right now. Thanks for the advice. I am not a fan of the 350 wheels design but might consider them. I am yet to spot some in the ads though.
  11. Has no one done any research on this or bought a second set of wheels? 😮
  12. Hi guys. I am sure I am not the first in need of an additional set of wheels that would allow me to run a more road-friendly set of tires and then switch to a trackday set when needed. Being aware of what Komotec offers, is there a cheaper alternative out there? I don't think the ultimate low weight matters that much on the road, so I would be OK with wheels at least close to OEM weight, that look decent and won't crack in the first pothole they meet. Here are the OEM rims specs in case it helps someone when googling: F: 7.5Jx17 ET26, bore 65.1 mm, PCD 5x110 R: 10Jx18 ET32, bore 68.1mm, PCD 5x114.3 I checked Braid - they are the supplier to Komotec, so expensive. I checked with Speedline and they said they don't have any. Has anybody had any experience with Rota? I know the quality does not match up to the OEMs, but the price is tempting for a road setup: F: https://www.driftworks.com/eu/rota-titan-in-hyper-silver-17x7-5-5x110-et20-tita7517w1p20pchs0651.html R: https://www.driftworks.com/eu/rota-titan-in-hyper-silver-18x9.5-5x114.3-et30-titr9518d1p30pchs0730.html (they don't have 18x10, but the 9,5" is actually recommended for the 265 section Trofeo R for example) Thanks for any advice!
  13. Thank you guys. The V6S + mods makes more sense I guess. Let's see what 410 Sport does with V6S prices, I'm afraid it will not lower them, rather stabilize them as it starts at double the price of older V6s Btw, any experience with this shifter? https://komo-tec.com/Shop/en/Exige/MK3-Toyota-V6-350-380/Gearbox/Shifter-Alitech-KT-350.html
  14. Hi Imran. I am halfway through this topic (enjoying it very much btw.), so sorry if you have covered this, but....you had some tasty track machines in the past. How does the Exige compare? Any laptime comparisons?
  15. Thanks guys, it seems this will go down to "I'do what I did" But valuable inputs nonetheless. The thing is I don't know any details of what was improved from V6S to 350 Sport outside that gear linkage and some weight savings. Reliability is of course a big factor too. My local dealer says I should look for post 09/2016 cars, where Lotus introduced major improvement in the production and quality processes, but he would not know more details than that. If we stick with facts, the truth is that 350 is 2 sec faster on Hethel's track, with worse tires, so there must be some major performance improvements. Would V6S with Nitrons, Trofeos and better brakes go faster still though?
  16. Hi folks! Next year I may finally be able to fulfill my dream and get myself into a V6 Exige. Given the facts, budget and options below , which Exige would you choose? One important thing to keep in mind is that I would have to do the LHD conversion, which from what I saw is £3-4k Budget: ~£46 000 Intended use: 70% track, 30% road(trips) Current car: Corvette C5 with decent track mods Exige experience so far: Not much. Had a ride in standard 350 Sport on track, was impressed but not blown away, performance felt similar to the Vette. Drove 410 Sport in Hethel and was blown away V6S: From what I read the suspension might need some work for track use. On the other hand the budget might allow some decent mods (Nitron 3 way, 2-piece brakes, harnesses, gear linakge etc.) Club Racer: I thought it would fit the bill nicely, but am bit afraid of the "old" gear linkage (don't understand why it is used even on late 2016 cars?) and perhaps a bit harsh suspension for our bumpy b-roads. Any CR owners here willing to share their experience? What would be the performance difference on track against standard V6S/350 Sport? 350 Sport: I guess my budget would barely buy me some of the first 350s and I would have to save a bit more for mods. Can the 350 be tracked "as is" (temperatures, geometry setup,...)? Thanks for any advice. If you have any links for a good read on this topic, please share. Petr
  17. Hi Chris, you won the lottery of having my first post on this forum in your thread Anyway, I had a chance to drive the 410 on Lotus' Hethel track last week. Honestly mi first thought when I "opened her up" and the flap switched was "OMG this sounds fantastic, too bad it comes so late in the rev range" :) The steering, the precision, the brakes, everything was delicious, although I have to say it is a proper workout to drive this car quick. Or at least I though I was going quickly...We then had a chance to catch a ride with some bloke called Martin Donnelly. Well, after 3 corners I knew I had just been scratching the surface. This car (and the man) is a monster! I think every owner should experience what their car can do in the hands of a pro and then set off to a life-long quest to get anywhere near their speed, I advise you do the same with your 410. Looking forward to following your journey!
