  1. Thanks folks! Yeah as Bibs mentioned the e-brake or emergency brake is a.k.a. the handbrake or parking brake. The car's been towed to the shop for a repair estimate. So I'm waiting with anticipation what that will be. I hadn't got around to installing any security yet; Dave that's interesting, that you had an immobilizer installed and they managed to bypass that! And wow sheared off the bell housing?!! That's crazy. Well I'll keep you all posted on the progress.
  2. Well good news, it was found last night! In Medina, which is about 10 miles from where I live. Stuck at a roundabout just off I-90. Just talked to the tow company who impounded it and they said it's undrivable. Clutch pedal won't depress and the e-brake is shot. My guess is that whoever stole it didn't know how to disengage the e-brake and as such didn't get very far. So maybe that's a little unintentional security measure for Esprits?!! Now waiting for my insurance to get back to me (probably tomorrow as I'm writing this on Sunday) to figure out next steps. Fortunately I have full coverage so repair costs should be covered minus the deductible. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the well wishes!
  3. Hey folks, My Black 89 Esprit Turbo SE was stolen last night. It was parked in front of my house in Seattle, WA, USA. Plate #WA 141-CKR. If you see it, please contact the Seattle PD and notify me. Here's hoping it gets found. Thanks, Alan Burt
  4. Thanks Atwell! I was hoping there would be an easier way rather than removing the seat and carpet, but alas that seems like what has to be done. Thanks also for the link to Exotic Salvage, I'll pass that along to our NW Lotus club. Cheers and Happy Holidays!!!
  5. I recently discovered that the passenger side seat belt is frayed halfway through at the base by the door (probably from cutting into the vinyl trim). I would like to remove it to have it repaired / replaced. However it looks like I would have to remove carpeting to get to whatever is anchoring the belt. Any tips for how to remove this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  6. Herbert, what did you end up getting for the radio? My 89 Turbo has a Panasonic but I'm looking at replacing it at some point...
  7. Brilliant, thanks! Just ordered a set from SJ Sportscars. Here's the link if anyone else needs them: https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/A082G6046F.htm?currency=1
  8. Hi, I'm looking to replace the center caps for my OZ wheels on my 89 Turbo SE. According to the Lotus model specs the wheels are OZ Ruote 7 spoke (http://www.espritfactfile.com/roadwheels.html). The current caps measure about 50 MM Diameter and 15 MM deep. They have part number M-075. I've been searching online for an equivalent aftermarket part. Has anyone replaced their caps and/or can direct me to an aftermarket equivalent? Thanks! -Alan
