  1. Yeah I've heard from several people the PFC 08's are very aggressive on discs too. I recently switched from the stock ferodo 2500's over to Pagid RS29 and they have been very good. I'll report back if/when I go for the Elise shop discs.
  2. I take it you didn't go ahead with them Exx? Personally I'm quite tempted to give them a go, can't really see any reason not to unless they were clearly made of crappy materials which they don't appear to be. My stock cheapo crossed drilled discs work fine but I track my car so could do with better heat dissipation, and they've started developing the usual surface cracks around the holes. These look like they'd be a decent step up.
  3. Hi all - searching for new discs as my cross-drilled discs don't have much life left. I've checked out the options from KT, Seriously Lotus and Elise Parts, but then came across these from Elise-Shop (based in NL I think?) who I have bought some carbon bits from before. Front: https://www.elise-shop.com/elise-shop-com-front-aluminium-bell-brake-discs/ Rear: https://www.elise-shop.com/elise-shop-com-rear-aluminium-bell-brake-discs/ Inc shipping, VAT and import these should come in at around £1100-1200 GBP for a full set - that's around half the price of most of the other options out there... they sound like a good trackday option based on the descriptions. Any thoughts/opinions/experience on these? Thanks, Nick.
  4. Hi Terry I would really appreciate if you could post here a description of the fix for the "kangarooing" when it's sorted. My 350 has done the same for ages, except it's more present when pulling away in first. It's really annoying, and makes it look like I don't know how to use a clutch lol
  5. Thanks for the replies guys. Rykchiu - awesome write up, thanks so much. I ended up just removing the roof and passenger seat, leaving seatbelts in place and with a bit of manoeuvering squeezed out the plastic rear panel behind them. As suggested the speaker wires were already there, just cable tied down to everything else so I cut the ties, popped everything back in place and it turned out to be a nice easy job that only took an hour or so (once I had the right tools - needed a wobble extension for my ratchet handle to get at the seat bolts) Installed Focal 130AC in the rear and they sound awesome, the sound really fills the cabin now and is perfectly fine to drown out most of the noise on a long motorway drive. Tbh with my pioneer head unit the sound is great to me although lacks some bass but has enough for my ears (and music taste - who needs bass when you listen to Metallica). Didn't exactly buy the car for its sound system anyway so I hardly have the volume up, it gets in the way of the exhaust too much!
  6. Hi all, disclaimer - I am a complete novice when it comes to car audio (or any audio, really) but yesterday replaced the Clarion HU in my 350 with a new Pioneer unit and swapped out the front speakers for Focal 100AC's - time and money well spent! Next things: fit a sub and rear speakers. However my car didn't come with rear speakers and I unscrewed the round blanking plate behind the driver's seat but there doesn't appear to be any speaker wire in there to fit them. Does anyone have experience wiring in rear speakers? Where to wire them in to and how to route said wire through the car? Thanks in advance
  7. Thanks all! That's the one, Dave. I test drove it a couple of times and snapped it right up!
  8. Hi everyone I'm Nick, 28, from the south west and in the last week I made one hell of an upgrade from my (admittedly superb, for 4 years) Audi TT Mk2 2.0 S-Line to this absolute monster - my 2016 Exige Sport 350 in Solar Yellow 😁 The Lotus is an enormous step up and what made me fall in love with it rather than going with something more "mainstream" like a 718 Cayman or an F-Type was how true it is to Lotus' mantra. It knows exactly what it's meant to be and delivers in every single way, the handling is exceptional and I absolutely love the rawness - don't think I could ever go back to a car with power steering! (will probably regret saying that in a year's time but at least my arms will be massive) Looking forward to meeting some of you guys in the future I'm sure, and I've lurked these forums for a while and noticed the excellent advice and tips given by many of you so thought I'd sign up and get involved. I'm planning a couple of simple "mods" to start with - the roof bar holes & grommets for the Elise soft top are already installed so I plan to purchase the soft top if I can bloody find one. Also have a Pioneer SPH-10BT and a pair of Focal 100AC front speakers ready to go in, after which I'll potentially add in the Aim MX2E digital dash. This beauty is going to be my daily driver for the foreseeable, I've already had some funny looks hauling it around the ASDA car park! Here she is, going topless for the first time (with me at least) : And with the roof back on:
