  1. I’ve just had to replace my battery on my Exige V6 and the vent pipe came out when I took battery out. Does anyone know were the end pipe goes that’s not attached to the battery? I’ve looked around and can’t see anywhere it attaches too? The only thing I can see is a gap in the bodywork that drops down into the rear bumper area.
  2. On a similar topic to the thread above, I’ve just had to replace my battery and the vent pipe came out when I took battery out. The only thing I can see is a gap in the bodywork that drops down into the rear bumper area.
  3. I’ll take another look later and see if I’ve been a bit to heavy handed when putting it on. Thanks as well for the post about the carpet fasteners. I’ve had the same set for a while now and not got round too fitting them. Your instructions will be very helpful! Good work with the you tube videos as well - lots of useful advice 🙂
  4. Thanks for posting about the engine covers, I’ve just fitted mine that I also got from Elise-shop but have a question about the bottom smaller cover. I attached the tower clips to the cover and pressed into place but the cover seems loose and will move around. Is there something I’ve missed when attaching the clips? When I press the cover into place, the clips seem to push through hole in the bracket. Any help be appreciated.
  5. Thanks for everyone’s responses. After doing some research on good paint shops specialising in FG, I took the car to option 1 sports cars in Bromsgrove. I picked the car up today and and they’ve done what looks like a good job and a very good paint match. They said it was an unusual place to get the blisters and they most commonly appear on the doors. They did warn me though that these micro blisters can re-appear at other areas on the panel so they don't guarantee they won’t re-appear. Fingers crossed they don’t 🤞🏻
  6. Hi, I've recent purchased some carbon fibre engine bay covers (front and rear). My car originally only came with the front cover so I’ve fitted the bracket to fit the rear section. The parts arrived but didn’t come with any parts to mount them to the car. I've managed to mount the front part ok by removing the rubber grommets from the original cover and attaching the to the new part. However, I’ve not been able to mount the rear cover as I believe it needs 3 tower clips to attach it that I don’t have. I’ve tried to order them from lotus but surprise surprise they are not available and on back order. Does anyone know what these tower clips look like and if I could purchase them from somewhere else?
  7. The car is a 2015 is well out of any warranty. It’s frustrating though as I really wouldn’t expect any modern car to have paint issues at this age/mileage. I spoke to a fibreglass today who’s going to take a look at it. He did mention that it’s a common problem as also said he’d had a 8 month old Evora in once with the same issue. Apparently Lotus wouldn’t cover it under warranty 😳🤦🏻‍♂️
  8. I bought the car private but as far as I’m aware it’s never been resprayed.
  9. Hi, I’ve recently noticed a few bubbles have appeared in the paintwork on my 2015 Exige S (see photos). From what I’ve read on other posts/forums, it’s caused by moisture escaping from the fibreglass (please correct me if I’m wrong). It sounds like respraying the affected panel/s is the only solution? Can anyone recommend somewhere I could get this done that have experience with Lotus cars? I’m based in the Nottinghamshire so somewhere in the midlands would be better.
  10. Thanks Guy, it looks really good. I’ll give that tape a try 🙂
  11. Thanks for the replies. I ideally don’t want to paint the stripes as I’m currently not 100% if I want them or not. At least vinyl decals would be easy to remove if I don’t like them.
  12. Apologies if this has already been asked elsewhere but I couldn’t find anything. Ive recently bought a carbon fibre access panel and was wondering if anyone knew a company that could supply the coloured stripe decals like the attached image.
  13. Thanks for the replies. I was hoping there would be a nice easy way to replace them but both options look like seat out jobs. I’ll probably go down plastidip route when I next get a free weekend.
  14. This is my first post so apologies if this topic has already been raised elsewhere and I’ve not been able to find it. I’ve recently bought a Exige S (2015) in white and I’ve been blown away with how much fun it it is to drive! I’m constantly finding excuses to go out for drives and really impressed with how much love it gets in the roads. As with most cars I’ve owned, I’m looking to make so make some minor (tasteful) cosmetic changes to the car. Does anyone know if you can retrofit the seat hoops in different colours and if so, where you can purchase them from? I’ve seen them in different colours on later cars (350’s onwards) but not the Exige S. mine are currently black and I was looking to swap them for white ones. Thanks, Rob
