Hello all. Thanks for letting me join.
I’m a chimney sweep based in Fairburn, North Yorkshire but covering a huge area across towards Hull and beyond.
last week whilst fitting a cowl on a chimney I spotted some cars in a back garden. On closer inspection (it was out of sight from up high) I found a rather forlorn looking 1982 Esprit Turbo.
I was doing the job for the brother in law of the owner so managed to get a contact name and number.
Fast forward less than a week and I’ve just purchased it. It was love at first sight to be honest and being a child of the 80s just knew I needed to own it. I was pretty shocked to be honest when the owner said he’d be happy to pass the torch onto someone with more enthusiasm than he could now muster.
Anyway... the engine was rebuilt by a place in Northampton 10 years ago. The owner refitted it and did all of 40 miles before it was parked up.
Needs a lot of work but I’m up for the challenge having restored classic vehicles in the past.
Does anyone recognise the car? I believe it was a member of the lotus owners group as there was a yellow sticker in the side window.
Best Regards
