  1. When I was looking to buy, a sales guy at a Lotus dealer told me the Evora (Toyota) engine was made to have an automatic gearbox and so the IPS was a more natural fit, and Lotus had to adapt the design to allow for a manual... is this true or was he just trying to sell me the IPS that was on the forecourt!? I ended up buying a manual from somewhere else...
  2. yes, that white IPS used to be listed at £33k, then down to £30k recently, now up to £32k on there website?
  3. Interesting... just noticed that Lotus Siverstone have just increased the price of its two NA's for sale by £2k!? Are they expecting Evora's prices to rise now they are coming to the end of production?
  4. this has been up for sale a number of times since July I think.. a few from this forum have looked at it including myself who nearly bought it, but in the end decided I needed my first Evora to come with a warranty... and there's nothing wrong with black 😀
  5. 👍 If that is the only reason then great..! I really don't need 2 extra seats, though may affect re-selling it if/when it comes to that....
  6. Seems to vary... the one I've just bought from Jon Seals at £25k had been on sale since July? Still wondering why it didn't shift quicker, its a clean car, low miles, good though not perfect service history, 2+0, years warranty... maybe I'll find out soon!?
  7. Noticed a 2009 NA has just come on here.. https://www.micarz.co.uk/used/lotus/shipley/ there are some pics on the Evora Owners Facebook page...
  8. Fantastic looking car.. love the red bits....
  9. Having just bought my first Evora without seeing it, for me buying from a reputable dealer became the key thing. I don't think I'm the most discerning of buyers (!), so wanted some reassurance that the dealer wouldn't sell rubbish and there was a warranty for added peace of mind. This was the third Evora I'd seen and driven, the first was from a dealer but not a Lotus dealer and the whole thing (both the car and dealer) didn't feel right enough, the second one was at a Lotus dealer but essentially a private sale and after nearly going for it decided against for various reasons. I also think when you looking at a car you've never driven before its hard (at least it was for me!) to discern all is what it should be, as everything feels so different... dunno, my tuppence worth.... the last three cars I've bought I haven't seen but have all been from reputable dealers and have turned out great... 😀
  10. Ah.. just ordered some others this afternoon!!!! Thanks anyway, will keep the link in case there rubbish...
  11. I agree, after looking through the forums for a few months doing the research etc.. it seems there are certain issues that keep cropping up. Just have to put up with badly fitting carpets, cheap plastic bits (the door handle trim came off in my hand as the dealer was going through the virtual handover!), and the already mentioned leaks.. BUT the way the car handles is sublime... 😀 I think you maybe right....
  12. Hi everyone, thanks for the replies... just come back from the first trip since self-isolation.. absolutely love it!!! Early days, but a real step up from the BRZ... really doesn't matter you can hardly see anything through the back, you can't see the buttons while your driving, you have to plan your exit.... minor details! Soooo pleased with it.... it'll be starting the school run next week. Yep, it was the one from Jon Seal... Cheers, Ade
  13. Have posted a couple of times but thought I ought to make a formal introduction. I've just bought a 2010 Evora NA... slightly frustrating as it was delivered this week while our household is having to self-isolate and I haven't been out in it yet! Will be going for some 'essential' shopping later... Already encountering some of the well known 'niggles', i.e after a whole load of rain this week both drivers and passengers door sills are wet. Fortunately it has a warranty so will be returning shortly to the dealer to get sorted. I hope to do much of the work on it myself and have noticed that Eliseparts are only 20-30mins away (via some great roads) from me 😀. Looking at some of the forum threads it seems Eliseparts are good for non oem parts and deRoure the place to go for official lotus parts? Anyway, I'm based in Northamptonshire, new to Lotus and have come from a BRZ which I did love to be honest, just had an itch for a Lotus! Looking forward to being part of the Lotus community, these forums seem a great place for advice and knowledge... Cheers, Ade
  14. Hope so! Just put a deposit down for the black one at Jon Seals... 2010 NA, £25k, 42000miles...
  15. Thanks for the info... yes, the other member has sent me his thoughts as well... just mulling it all over. I'm new to Lotus, new to the Evora so starting to think that a car from a reputable dealer with some warranty might be best for me until I get to know the car a bit better. Equally, I don't want to be too fussy, I think I can get bogged down in the detail while forgetting what a great car it actually is. I'm going to spend a few weeks trying to think about other things and start again in the New Year... thanks again, appreciate the response...
  16. Hi all, thanks for all the replies.. hmmmm, think I'm going to dwell on it a bit and make a decision over the Christmas turkey...
  17. Hi, new to the forum and hopefully soon a new Evora driver... does anyone know much about this car: https://www.pjslotus.co.uk/lotus-evora Ive had a test drive, really liked it, new clutch is great, the car seems in great condition, just a few minor niggles like the satnav doesn't work, which doesn't bother me too much... its being sold by pjs on behalf of a customer so doesn't come with any warranties but they vouched for it in terms of its condition. We've agreed a price but I'm just a bit curious as to why it hasn't been bought yet as they've had it since the summer I think? Any info greatly appreciated... Thanks,
