  1. Our ‘05 Elise has recently been experiencing short battery life. I replaced the first battery, which was a wet acid battery after it failed, I thought because of low acid level. The new battery, an Optima, is about a month old, and I have been keeping a trickle charger on it. But over the past week or less the trickle charger was not applied. This morning it would not allow the key fob to disable the security system, I think because of a low battery. The battery would not accept a charge until I disconnected it from the vehicle. Has anyone ideas as to what is going on? I’ve have owned the car for two years and did not have this problem until a few months ago.
  2. After replacing a relatively new wet battery with an Optima dry cell battery, I continue to have dead battery problems. Does the security system use enough electric power to require the use of a trickle charger.
