  1. Ah yes, Lotus are moving all the Elan provenance enquiries to a similar presentation as well. A nice touch though and an ideal birthday present. Unfortunately only last week I 'suggested' one of these for the next birthday: https://petrolvibes.eu/products/evora-s-2011-detailed-silhouette-metal-wall-art?_pos=2&_sid=18807e37f&_ss=r But maybe a certificate for Christmas...and I will re-position the flag badges! I might still email Andy as I would like to clear up the 18/19 wheel combo question that seems to be the only anomaly remaining.
  2. Correction! The car DOES have cross drilled discs! (shows how often I inspect them...🤣)
  3. According to the flyer posted by Bibs in my post, Nightfall was one of the original 'four' colours...
  4. `My initial awakening that mine is an SR was taken from an attachment that Bibs posted back on page 3: https://www.thelotusforums.com/latest-news/lotus-cars-news/lotus-evora-sports-racer-revealed/ Of the list of items here, I have them all - all the black bits, seats with red piping and a 'liberal dose of suedtex' if this means the front of the dash and strips in the door panels. Red stitching etc. The ICE is touch screen with DVD (INE-W920R). This flyer does not mention the 19/20 wheel combo, but I see it later. Yes I have 18/19s (originally black but I got bored with black...) - was the car destined for China maybe, or, did they just run out of 19/20s on the day the car was shoved out the door?! They are Lotus forged wheels though, so I assume the originals. It does not have cross drilled discs - they could have been replaced, but with only 60k kms on the clock, I doubt it. The flag badges I cannot comment on! Were these not supplied loose with the car for dealer attachment? Maybe the French dealer did not follow instructions, as they are both in the same place... As I have been so peed off with Brexit though, I have often thought of removing them and shoving them somewhere unpleasant if I ever met Boris🤣🤣 Maybe an email to Andy is called for..?
  5. Interesting you point this out Jonny! What do you see that the car is lacking for the SR spec? I am not overly concerned that it might not be, I only judged it to be one from the various descriptions earlier in the thread...
  6. I have come in late on this thread. I did not appreciate ther was such a model as a Sport Racer even! I wonder if it is possible that there is a breakdown of the above data to show more detail - say, colours and drive side even? I have a lhd S with IPS in Nightfall Blue - it would be interesting to know how many similar, so that I can attach a premium price tag to it..🤣🤣 I had a choice of a couple of 400s or my, older by a year' model. I chose this one as I much prefer the older 'rounder' style of the front and rear end. I know the trend is to have aggressive gaping openings on the front now, but I just find them ugly. I had an RS6 a few years back with the same that just took away from the elegance of a large car. I am though slightly annoyed as I have made a few mofifications - (apologies if you do not like the GTE wing, but it is so outrageously well designed, I just had to have it..😀) - the most notable being my desire to lower the temperature of the charge by fitting a water cooled intercooler. I have the Komo-tec cold air intake and balanced exhaust fitted in preparation. But just as I am ready now to buy the intercooler/blower, Komo-Tec tell me that the the installation requires a 400 style front end for the radiator😩 so I am in two minds whether or not to continue..! Though with all the nonsense going on around the place, I guess I am pretty lucky to have only this dilemma..!🤙
  7. This is good to know - you obviously have done this, so I shall try through the wheel arch before removal of the belly plate. Thanks! The urgency has gone now as my Elan is immobile and hogging my indoor space. As it is raining here all day, I shall tackle the job over the weekend if it is dry. Thanks for the pointer to the possible cause of the leak.
  8. Thanks! yes, I do not know if it is a hose, clip or even cracked botttle - but if it is only lowering the plate, then I can assess. If it needs a new hose or bottle, then no big deal to put the plate back to use the car Wednesday. Again, thanks
  9. Good morning - I have a leak from my winscreen/lights washer bottle. There are inconclusive descriptions on access to the bottle on the internet. Some have removed the front bumper, others say it should only be necessary to remove the belly plate. The Lotus workshop allocated time appears to be 0.4 hours for the work, so from this I read that it is only a belly plate removal… I need the car for Wednesday though, and no time to faff around, but if just the belly plate, I can do this. Has anyone actually done this work and will confirm if it can be done with just belly plate removal please?
  10. I am a bedrock fan of ApplePay. Problem is that Petrol pumps in the main (UK and EU) do not accept ApplePay, so my way around it is to use Revolut who will give out up to four cards for no fee. So, one in each car and I am sorted. The Evora is not exactly a common car in SW France, so yes, I get many looks and comments the few times I use it. Like the other day. I needed a fill up and cruised into my local station just at the time when the boy scouts were having a litter clean up that attracted many young wannabee racing drivers supervised by their scout masters producing many oohs and ahs! Cool as a cucumber, I exited gracefully (something I have now mastered after many rehersals....😀) and inserted my Revolut card into the pump. Refused. OK, keeping cool, I tried again. Refused. With all eyes on me now, tried a third time. Refused. Lowering my shoulders and sucking in my chest, I skulked back into the car for a quiet getaway amidst the embarrassment! On my arrival home, a mail from Revolut notifying me that someone had tried using one of my cards, but complimenting me on my foresight to use the security measures they afford to block the card after the last use of the card....🤣🤣 I would love to know the comments as I left the station...
  11. Just a quick reply to this, re-iterating that the AUTEL MAXILINK ML629 does indeed clear the airbag light (my car a '16 SR) and available from https://www.obdprice.eu/products/autel-maxilink-ml629-code-reader?_pos=1&_sid=8094bc724&_ss=r for 88€ delivered in France, that, for me was cheaper than one round trip to my nearest dealer! Point of the reply is that if anyone like me is caught in the SW France dealer wilderness brought about by Lotus' stupidity, arrogance and attitude, can get to Carcassonne, then I can rest your light in one minute flat. Alternatively, happy to send you the reader on a refundable deposit anywhere in France. Regards, Hal
  12. To close this one off - yes, a loose connection. All my own fault as I used the horn wire to power a small accessory, and did not snap the connector shut properly....
  13. Hope to lift the car in a fortnight as I am away next week. Will report back…
  14. Yes, I am in total agreement. An issue for me is the complete indifference that Lotus has for SW France in sacking a very competant dealer in Toulouse that now means a 700km round trip to another reputable dealer. I have a general garagiste locally though who will put the car on his lift, remove the belly plates and give eveyrthing a thorough shake. The noise returned this morning leaving the car port. It definitely is spring related - far too alarming a noise for a ball joint..! I will report back! Thanks!
  15. I am about to order the Powerflex ARB blocks. I will do the rear as well although I do not hear much noise back there, but maybe worth doing. I see from the German Powerflex outlet that they do a set of ARB blocks plus engine/transmission mounts - maybe I will do these as well. Question: Are these difficult to replace does anyone know? The car will be on a lift which might be half the battle, but once under the belly plate, is replacement straight forward? Thanks
