  1. Well here are pics. The yellow one is the original covered in spray putty to mask blemishes. One closeup demonstrates that the copies do need a fine sand and a coat of paint and there are minor blemishes that will need smoothing. They fit my mirrors well, both left and right. As they are made of resin, they are not as robust as the polythene originals and will crack if stressed too far. It helps to warm them up before fitting. They will need a good wash before painting as they are moulded in silicone and primed with something like "Sticks-like" or "plasticote plastic primer". Motor factors and B&Q sell this. They are working out at about 5.30GBP each
  2. Just an update for those interested. I have made the mould for these Bezels and I have some sensible results. I've had problems with the casting being fragile. This is due to the black dye so I am using only a small amount resulting in the Bezels turning out purple in daylight. For those who want these, they will need very fine sanding and finishing plus a coat of paint to change the colour. Also, would it be easier for all if I put these on Ebay?
  3. Mine are, the shape is symmetrical and so is the glass
  4. Hi all, I will crack on and get the new mold made. Please message me so that I can get an idea of quantities...
  5. Hi Charlie, I need to make one for my self (moulded from the one I have). I made the last one (that got knocked off by a tree) from "Fast cast" and it looked good. I checked the silicone mould a few days ago and it has started to rot so I need to make another. Would you still be interested in these bezels for cost price? I am after a convex mirror if you know of one...
  6. Thanks, exactly what I wanted
  7. Hi, Does anyone know where I can buy another of these Drivers/Constrotors bage as mine has been lovingly poslished to a silver bar? Ta!
  8. I had a similar problem that was caused mainly by a poor bullet contact (on the earth side) that had a high resistance. I eliminated the motors by disconnecting them and by testing with a 12v battery and mimicking the switch with jumpers. This proved that the problem was with the loom at the front of the car. As my car spends a lot of time out side being rained on, this was understandable. I replaced all bullets with modern water tight connectors and checked the loom with a meter for duff wires. I also put a separate chassis earth in for the lamps (This seriously improved the speed of the pods and lamp brightness). Since then, no random winking and pods work well. I never worked out how the winking happened but I think the duff bullet connector was forcing something else to earth through the pod motor , thus making it cycle. I also up rated the lamp relays as they were getting hot.
  9. Mate of mine finished COD two days ago and "Natzi Zombies" is cool.
  10. Widjet Esprit S2 1980 Silver and Black 7903107116 Near Hertford Had a complete rebuild over the years and a few clever mods. Must be the only Esprit S2 that has no electrical problems AND does not overheat (no matter how hot it is, stuck on the M25!) Honest!
