  1. I see. In that case the Truelo will have to work just fine thank you. A rich man would just buy it. Us poor folk can only dream.
  2. I am still on the set that came with the car and so far am happy with them. Will probally stick with them unless I go to slicks. The A048's seem to do quite well so far but tire wear is starting to show up rather quickly. It seems that the 2-11 A048's are even softer than what comes standard on the Elise/Exige models. Unless that's my slip and slide technique at play. A lot of the guys in my area have switched to the Toyo R888's for their street cars and also use them on the track. They seem to have a better wear rate and those guys are happy with the performance. They are also priced better than the A048's and seem to be in better supply. Present plan for the 201 season will be to have a set of rains, and either a set of slicks or A048's, to be replaced as reqiured. I like the way the 48's feel and am comfortable with the level of "stickiness" they seem to provide. And as long as the sponsor is paying for them......
  3. Same here. I also added the Sector 111 stiffener plate and the urethane motor mounts. Those two additions helped quite a bit but still left room for improvement. On a tight twisty course where the shifting has to be fast and furious, missed shifts or a struggle to find the gear can still occur. even with the required "light touch" shifting can be frustrating at times. I'm hoping the truelo kit will, by virtue of decreased shifter travel, remove the sloppy feel that the stock unit currently is exhibiting. If not, then I may have to cough up the dosh for a sequential unit once a durable and proven one has been produced. Al
  4. I have to second Matt's comment. Had not thought about it untill reading it. I've noticed the same issue with the fuel gauge. Running out on the track the fuel gauge will show more gas than there really is, still in the tank. Shut the car off, and suddenly the gas level is considerably lower. What is caising the "hang-up" or glitch in the reading? Is the only solution to fill up after every run regardless of what may be showing? Will the replacement FIA fuel cell tank produce the same results? This is of some concern as I hope to be running the car actively in SCCA competition in 2010. Al B.
  5. Any word on availability of the Hans approved seat replacements? Cost, availability ? Any factory solution to the oil starvation when running slicks issue? Other than that, having a great time beating up on the high horsepower corvettes, Vipers, Ford GT's, Porsches, and anything else that gets in the way. Please pass that along to Nick with a wicked poop eating grin. Al B.
  6. Matt, Before you spend all the money for a full cage there are a couple of things you can try to improve your seating position. First remove the seat pad. I did it this past weekend and my bum was unblemished by it. There is enough padding, in the seat that is. Second, lower the seat on the mounting brackets , one hole. I'm 6'-2" with a 34 inseam and can now pass the broomstick test. Al B.
  7. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Al Houston
  8. Bibs, Good thing you have a photo record of the evening. Does look tasty, have to admit.
  9. Hope everyone has a good one and can remember the details afterwards. Cheers!
  10. My car will be heading in for it's first service after this weekend. One of the things that will be done is a Cryo treatment for the rotors. the idea s to extend the life of the rotors through the treatment. The cost for all four is around 250 U.S. Will let anyone interested know how it works out and if any noticeable difference afterwards. For those doing serious track time it may be a worthwhile consideration. I have asked the dealer to get me a write up on the process. I will post it here when I get it. Al
  11. Best wishes for your birthday from this side of the pond. Have a good one! Al
  12. does it have a supercharger option and is it available in chrome orange?
  13. I changed out to the poly bushings several years ago and quite a few miles. Still have them and they are working just fine. Much stiffer ride but they will soften a bit with time. No, they are not worn out. If your's are wearing out in 6 months you must have something else going on. Suggest you have the suspension checked out by an authgorized shop or Lotus suspension speacilist.
  14. At 68k on the clock the original manifold was cracked in three places. Installed a later S4 model header and had it coated. It held up to 92k with no cracks, just a need to be re-coated. It now serves as a back-up should the custom heade let go, which at 101,+k is doing just fine thank you. To those here who have ordered one, please be patient I am hoping to hear something in the next few days, so I am told.
  15. Around here the locals would look at it and say "just ain't worth shootin" Have to agree.
  16. Mainly for backing out of or off of the trailer. Sure would hate to run over all the admirers standing at the back gawking at the beauty of the 2-11.
  17. Are those available in black? Do want to maintain the colour scheme you know.
  18. With the exhaust that comes on the car it's darned near impossible not to hit the rev limiter while on the track. Can't hear the engine. I have a very low mileage, virtually pristine factory super quiet for those in noise restricted areas, somewhat heavier than a track only car should have, silencer that I would happily trade for a raucous and completely uncivilized track purpose silencer. Anyone?
  19. Does anyone have the factory fire supression system, or any after-market brand, installed in their 2-11? I am looking specifically for photos of an installed unit for purposes of placement and cable/tubing routing. Also, what type of suppressant material is used and what is the bottle capacity of the factory kit. I was not able to tell from the Lotus 2-11 bits media. Nick, If you read this, is there a way to get a copy of installation diagrams so that I can start prepping the car for fitment? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Al B.

Almost qualifies as a small country.
  21. Congrats on your latest acquisition and an excellent color choice I might add. Hope one of your planned days at Barber is during this years LOG event. Hoping to see a few 2-11's running amok on the course. All the best and enjoy your ride! Al B.
  22. Oh that is just to cool! Now if I could only win the lottery!!!!!
