I know I responded in PM - but thought I would post into the thread as wellv- one of my projects over the holidays is to reset my toe, camber and re-scale my car....
I was walking down this path.. http://www.susprog.c.../tutorial04.htm
I just completed reading

I installed adjustable coilover a few months ago, and adjustable toplinks.

looks like I'm the newest member of the 'smelly club'.
when you replaced the crossover/balancing pipe - was it only the rubber hoses connecting the tank-to-pipe (#49) or does the actual metal pipe (#50) go bad as well?
If you replaced the pipe - what did you use? (is there anything special about the metal tube - coatings, ..etc)
thanx

Ok, here's the deal on your cdl according to the Service Notes. You have actuators in both doors but only the passenger one is motorized. It also says the wiring harness is setup to accomodate motorized actuators in both doors so you may be able to fit a second passenger door actuator on the driver's side. Then it would just be a matter of tapping into the correct wire with your remote opener system.
This is what I did. the driver's side actuator is nothing but a switch, so I added a second motorized actuator alongside. the alarm I installed had a door unlock/lock wire - so all I had to do was power the new driver-side motorized actuator and the rest work like usual.
-
my 89 SE did have central locking - so as you manually unlocked or lock the driver's door it activated the plunger on the passenger door.
what I did was add a plunger to the driver's door - operated by the alarm (i installed) and it triggers the driver's side door plunger, which then uses the central locking to unlock the passenger door.
The alarm has a million feature - of which I only use two - door unlock/lock and vibration sensor.
-
I added an alarm to my 89 SE - which had the wire to trigger locks - so I added door lock plungers (bought then from Best Buy).
It is nice to be able to unlock / lock both doors with the key fob.

don't have to - you can actually slide the transmission back enough without removing it or undoing the shafts. I recently did a clutch swap, new throw bearing and plot bearing as well. Pull the boot floor, and the little extra panel at the rear of the floor as well.

Dremels/rotary tools - any good?

Dremel is worth the extra $ from the no-name brands. I too have worn a few out over the years. I buy the 50 pack of carbon fiber cutoff discs... on of the most useful tools I have.
