Gent's, I'm hoping someone can point me in the correct direction here after not finding it via the search function. I'm experiencing a flashing/blinking Airbag dummy light on the dash, randomly while driving the car. It's just a quick flash, barely noticeable. But noticeable enough to drive me nuts while out on a drive Anyone else experience this before? Any direction would be greatly apreciated. This is for my 98 Esprit. Thanks! John R.

Pete, can you describe this solenoid in a little more detail? When you refer to "canister", do you mean the charcoal canister?

Gents, I'm wondering if I may have something else going on. I followed JoeyO's instructions on setting the idle. Worked like a charm. But another puzzle for you. The following day after setting the idle, the car would not run at idle when fully cold. Ignition would happen, but no idle. I could only get the car to idle if I had my foot on the gas. Once the car is warmed up, it idles with no problem what so ever. What else could it be? TIA, John R.

I just replaced a battery and and alternator and experienced this same problem. It also threw the check engine light on. Is there a specific way to let the car learn its idle?

Too few unfortunately :crybaby: But I just can't get rid of her. She stands out in a crowd of Ferraris and Lambos around these parts. I reside in Irvine.

Thats the Irvine PD for yah! 90% of the officers are awesome people. The other 10% are the ones you have to watch out for. The Esprit has been around since late 98. Original owner. I need to drive her more often. Right now I have to trouble shoot a charging system problem so I can get her going again.

I hear the Irvine PD really made it not fun anymore at the new location. How are things at the new location?

Thank goodness for the search feature! I just had the same thing happen to me over the weekend. Thanks for the great suggestions Paul. I know where to start now If it turns out to be a bad alternator, how hard is it to swap out on a 98 V8? I've got some wrenching skills from working on old Mopars, but the Esprit lacks a little in room when it comes to wrenching, haha.
