Spotted coming out of Homebase at around 4:30pm today. I was about 10 cars back in mine. Couldn't get level as you turned up the A34 before I could get to J9 roundabout.
  2. I've voted for the V8. I've owned both - Had a 4cyl for 2 years, replaced the rear tyres. The guy that owns it now (for the past 3 years) has replaced the battery - Cheap motoring? I've had my V8 for 3 years -it's major costs have been clutch, ABS & radiator. Insurance is more but I have no restrictions on use. Petrol - Plenty of people ask me "how many miles to the gallon?" - I always quote the number of "smiles to the gallon" - Higher than any other car I've driven. I think that with any car, there is a time in it's life when it is expensive to maintain. If you are lucky enough to miss this during your ownership then fine. Before I bought my V8, I was advised to budget for
  3. I have a personalised reg - if you get a good one then they're great. As for more money than sense.......If you have enough money to buy what you want then can you be considered as stupid? Enjoy it! Cheers, Paul
  4. Jonathan, Perhaps Dave can do some pink buttons and you could fit these as well!
  5. "Crap at sport" - does James May play rugby for France? Bugger, just dropped ash on my keyboard.
  6. Matt, Did you get the sketch I sent you? (or have you glued yourself to your car!!) Cheers, Paul
  7. There is a "sqaure U" edging strip available to fit between bottom of screen and bodywork. I had a screen replaced recently under insurance cover - The well known company made a real mess of it and they were supposed to be the experts. I had to get all the bodywork between bottom of screen to under "bonnet" repainted as they put excessive adhesive in this area and during removal they manked the paintwork. There was a plus side, I had the garage invoice them direct for the paint job and also received
  8. Wing related but not 350. I've been toying with the idea of adding a wing and see that SJ sell one of the post '98 style with brake light for not too much money (

Saw you on the A35 about 5 miles outside of Salisbury. I was in mine going towards Salisbury - I Waved!
  10. Hi, Go to this address - they sell the clear version. They are the same as a Renault. http://www.subzeroautomotive.com/site/1644...duct/RE-114-SZA If you want the orange ones then you can go to your local Euro car Parts. Cheers, Paul PS - If you go for clear then you need to get the "Look-silver-but-flash-orange" bulbs
  11. Saw a red Esprit on the road between Botley and Bishop
  12. I am experiencing the self same ABS light problems as Paul H. Fault code shows right rear sensor problem. This has been replaced however the light comes on totally randomly. I've also had the occasional speedo needle bounce. Driving in reverse then forward without braking makes the light go off 9 times out of 10! Paul, if you managed to sort out your problem then please let me know. If anyone has more advice they can offer it would be very welcome - just got a price of
  13. Had my cats fitted - Exhaust note was good before but now it's superb! Got talking de-cats with the mechanic. One thing to consider / advise on: The turbo seals work, and rely on, a certain amount of system back pressure. De-cat the system and the loss in back pressure causes the seals to fail. This was the reason for my original post about "de-catting blowing turbo's". Worth checking oil levels if you've de-catted.
  14. Done a bit more ringing around and looking on the web. Discussed my findings with my garage & they have advised me the following. The guy at the garage is an A1 Lotus mechanic so I take his advice as gospel. Some of you guys have posted similar comments so I'm assuming it's good advice. 1. Cheap repro ceramic cats will not last even if you have assurances that they're rated for BHP & CPSi. 2. "All-metal" cats are the best option. 3. The cost of all-metal cats vary immensely but you get what you pay for. 4. If you de-cat you car, thre is every possibility you'll blow your turbo - He's seen four de-catted V8's and they all blew turbo's. 5. Fit a metal cat, large bore, at least 200 CPSi and rated for at least 200BHP. There are some out there that are only rated for 180BHP (maybe only 100 cell) - These will not last. 2 x 180 = 360 which is too close to the factory 350BHP output. 6. A company called Blackthorn are linked to the "autocats" website. They no longer deal with cars and put me on to "Jetex" Spoke to a guy called Niel - very helpful. I spoke to Blueflame - they're listed on LEW and have rave reviews. They quoted me
