  1. Those are just old ads. Lucky the highest offer I received was 2,000GBP below my 120,000GBP reserve, because I can't sell this car anymore: My 4 year old daughter tells everyone that "Daddy has a white racecar with stickers on it. And when I grow up, he will buy me a purple race suit and a purple helmet and he will drive me in it on the race track". She's obsessed with it, so the car has to stay now. Oh yeah, also, last month, the GT300 won the overall Lotus Concours here, beating my S4s in second place. The S4s is already twice state and once national concours winner.

    Esprit S1 wanted

If there was one in for sale in Australia, I'd jump on it straight away.
  3. Anyone has a NEW one that is willing to sell?
  4. I already paid my deposit months ago to have the first one that comes into Australia. But it better be good, as when it will, it will cost as much as a demo Aventador and if the Esprit faulters at all, the Aventador it is!
  5. To expand on this. The price here will be around AU$600k. (458 pricing). An Aventador is AU$789k. By the time the new Esprit will finally be out, you can get a demo Aventador with extremelly low mileage (1,000 or so) for the same money. The Esprit has to be damn good to make me not want to get the bull instead.
  6. I have my cash deposit paid for the first new Esprit delivered in Australia.
  7. I just emailed it to you. I can never post any attachments here - I always get an error (above attachment limit, but my limit is lower, etc)Thanks.
  8. How do you guys get the mag? For the last month I've been trying to sign up for it on the Lotus Mag site, but the form keeps coming back with an error, before I even get to payment details.
  9. I don't understand why you'd even bother now when Australian delivered GOOD cars are in the $20ks? No rust, veryfiable history, and you can get post March '89 cars which have the Renault tranny, the updated side mirrors, etc. And no hassle, no waiting. The only Esprits' I'd bother importing would be either a S1 or the final edition V8's. First ones you can count on one hand in Australia, and the second ones were never released here.
  10. You guys are missing the point. The examples of cars shown that look better / don't need wings are agreed by everyone. They don't need wings because they look balanced without them, and adding a wing will make them look unbalanced. The G Esprits look perfect without wings and adding a wing to them would look idiotic. However, the Steven's Esprits, and especially the S4 onwards, and even more so once the wheel arches were added, look very unbalanced from the rear quarter angle and they need a wing to make the design flow and make the car look balanced. Diablo's are the same. Noone here was talking about the functionality of the wing, but the look of it.
  11. 100% agree. That blue Final Edition looks terrible without the wing.
  12. Simon, you missed the chopped roof on that S2.2. The car would now have the stifness of an over boiled noodle! And agreed on the km. That clock would have gone over at least once.
  13. Of course! But as I mentioned, I am in no rush. I just put it on Ebay on a whim. And it's on UK Ebay as well, as I figured most interest would be from there, although top bidder right now is from Germany. I set the reserve at just above what the UK dealer offered.
  14. Thank you for the advise. But I thought I was rather clear in the ad. It has been restored to concours condition in the LeMans livery, not in any other livery. And it is clearly mentioned as the Australian winning car, not as a LeMans entrant. It's more prestigious to win the Australian Champs rather than bomb at LeMans. And also this thread is linked in the ad, so anyone serious enough to bid would have read the links first. BTW, I am not arguing with you, I am just mentioning how I view/ed the ad. I am trying to change the ad to say LeMans Spec to make it even clearer but for some reason that functionality is not working right now. Tried for several minutes. It's way past bedtime anyway. I'll do that in the morning.
  15. As Mike said, this is NOT the #44 car. I have been very clear about it. It is one of the genuine GT300 racers, built in "LeMans Spec" by the factory. It is the Australian GTP champion car. Both '93 LeMans cars (#44 and #45) have been destroyed from what I have been told. Since this car was painted white for Lotus Australia (like the '93 cars) and since it was the only other one built in '93 (the '94 cars were more "advanced" I've been told), and I think the '93 LeMans livery, especially on #44 was the best looking of all liveries by far, it's the reason why I made it that livery. It was for no other reason, but personal choice. I've been told by various sources in the UK and USA, as well as Australia, that this is the last known survivor. If one wants a genuine GT300 GT2 racer built by Lotus, this is their only choice. It's up to them to put whatever livery they want on it. They can even put the livery that the car won the Australian championships in (although I think it's meh). Also, I don't think I've mentioned this anywhere. This one has never been crashed either. Not even something minor. Larry Perkins did blow up the first engine though, while leading Bathurst by multiple laps, setting lap record after lap record. That's why Lotus shipped a new engine over for the '94 season, which is in the car now. I do have the original blown engine though in the spares. Yes, but if you look at the bid history, only the last two bidders are serious. The rest were just playing around - 1,000, 2,000, etc pound bids. It still has a long way to go though.
  16. What I claim is true and fully verifiable by the Lotus factory, by the Lotus importer, by the Lotus mechanics shipped from the UK to chaparonne the car, etc. The car raced in GTP(roduction). Which meant it was not allowed to race with central wheelnut wheels. In fact, during the first season, it used the standard road Esprit wheels. Again, since it raced in GTP, the interior had to be "production", meaning working electric windows and mirrors, etc. The whole history of this car has been detailed in this thread from the start. This car is far from a replica.
  17. You guys have it easy in the UK. Here, in Melbourne, Australia, 25kph (15mph) over the speed limit is automatic licence suspension.
  18. Definetely agree with you there, but I certainly am in no rush to sell. I just feel that it's the best thing to do to her, rather than keep her dormant. I've had offers for 120k GBP from the UK and 150k euro from the EU, but the AU$ is unnaturally strong right now. It's 30% overvalued. We'll see, I'll take it as it comes
  19. She's up on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270672966729&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:GB:1123 She's not been used at all, so no point letting her waste away. Besides, some of the offers I've been getting from the UK and EU have been rather tempting.
