  1. Somewhere near Brussels could be, from geographical point of view, a good choice as well. Easily accessible through high ways, ferries and trains. We could storm to the Ring or Spa easily from there. Legend cars for legend tracks and vice versa. Depending on when the event occurs, we could arrange a parade lap at Spa.
One other thought could be to combine it with the Lotus Festival at Brands, that's in the summer, although we already had some torrential rains during the festival in the past ;-)
Not that I am unhappy, with the locations already mentioned, I'm happy with those as well. I guess most Esprits are still to be found in the UK?

  2. Sounds great. I've never done the full Nordschleife lap. I'll have a look and see how those dates work out. Djion is top of my hitlist this year so would ideally like to include a trip there.

Take Waky with you this time for the Ring trip ;) But beware our Belgian Stig has to race for my friend's team on 4 and 5 april at Spa and he's racing at Dijon on Mai 1 and 2, together with the Lotus Cup Europe. ;) So no Ring trips then :-D

I don't know how good your French is but if you want to do Dijon as well; this a good website for Dijon and for trackdays in general  in France. Let me know if you want me to translate ;)

  3. My hope is that Bibs can arrange me a ticket for the Geneva show, when I go and see the new/facelifted cars on the opening day ;-)

    Booked my ticket last week.
I still hope Lotus starts to make sense again, goes back to their roots and put a 2.0 or 2.5 engine with turbo or SC in cars like the Evora.

  4. Thanks for the comments guys.

You're right Bibs, it's definitely lively.

Yea I had all the work done by Momentum Motorsport Exploded.

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Wow great company they are!

    Incredible car!

    Who made the dash?

    Looks very recent.

That's exactly what I think all the Cup cars should have from the factory.

    Yup great dash indeed!

I'll be looking at this one, but for a race car.

  5. The right guy won. But,  Nico is the better loser.

    +1

It wouldn't be fair if someone whom has more than twice the amount of race wins, would not win the championship.

    The best driver won, justice.

  6. So if the Evora was Carr/Crijns, and the Exige S was Crijns, what did DC do in between? The 5 aborted styling models, is that it?

Well we'll never really know what Coco actually did. He probably re-designed a lot of parts and made lots of style studies. But I doubt we will see them in production. One thing that is sure is that he was an absolute fezza 599 fan, as he did the lead design on it and he said himself; this was the kind of Lotus he wanted to create (elite). From that point on, I knew he could be a brilliant designer, but did not understand anything what Lotus stands for...

  7. It's a shame Steven Crijns couldn't wait for Coco to leave Lotus.
I hope the front engined F599 will be definitely off the cards now. Good luck Russell Carr!!! Make us proud again!

I thought Russell had already occupied the role? In any instance what was wrong with Donato's work? I was sceptical when he turned up but if he is responsible for everything else since it was a breath of fresh air, especially the Exige S.

The Exige S was mainly designed by Steven Crijns (and under MJK not Bahar!)... The only thing Donato demanded for was the Evora diffusor.

  8. Lawrence Stroll is THE person whom left Team Lotus for dead, way back in 1995 at the very last split second, so he will suite perfectly with all the other snakes at Enstone.
Now that the Enstone team has a Mercedes deal, I wouldn't be surprised that Alonso is going back to a team he used to know very well and where he was very lucky.

  9. Luca did some very great things at Ferrari. Their profits are insane to automotive standards. Whereas many constructors want/need to sell more cars to get more profit, Luca is planning on restricting the amount of cars, so to raise the price of the cars (and keep the prices of the second hand ones up). But the bad performance of the 1.6 turbo power unit in F1 is probably the reason why he needs to go.
Mattiacci coming in was the prelude to the era of Luca. When I read that the boss of Fiat USA would step into the F1 team, I realised Luca's time had come.

Sad, but such is the hard business side of F1, good luck to Luca.

Somehow I can't see him moving to Lotus...

I think he would end up being a second Bahar, he would never understand the true nature of Lotus I'm afraid.
