  1. There's a bit of a dilemma here... PaulC is right, the Azure Blue S4s at UKSC (reg UDZ **** if memory serves correctly) IS an ex-forum users car. He had to get rid of it quickly cos of redundancy or divorce or something and was/is totally gutted to have got rid of it. It is a truely sorted and spot on car which, in theory, should survive the UKSC tampering but it is horrendously overpriced and you would only get a very short warranty which isn't worth the paper its written on. So if you go into it with the view of a private purchase (providing the price is right) with no comeback if things do go wrong then you'll get a VERY nice car. Of course, I'm not at all biased about the colour

  3. I happened to be out and about in the Canterbury area yesterday afternoon so thought I'd pass through Wingham and see what UKSC have in their possession at the moment. There was a red 89 Turbo reg G940*** out on the main road which is one of their sale cars - looked very nice but I didn't actually stop to analyse it. As I drove through Wingham I realised why UKSC do so well.... The village is very attractive and exudes 'class' so unsuspecting purchasers are immediately warmed to the area before even seeing the cars. You then drive toward their premises and are greeted by some pretty amazing looking cars grouped together. Its a recipe for sales success. With all this and their full page adverts in the Club Lotus mags, its easy to see how the unknowing Lotus enthusiast can get sucked in. I'm just glad I found the forums BEFORE buying my car otherwise I may well have been one of the suckers. Like Paul's car, mine had been through UKSC in one of its earlier incarnations but thankfully mine isn't too badly scathed as a result
  4. WHOA THERE !!! Whatever you do (and if its the only piece of information you gleen from this forum) do not - I repeat DO NOT - purchase a car from UK Sportscars. There's many reasons why not and many owners who will testify to these reasons. I don't wish to put anything slanderous on this open forum but suffice to say that you should steer WELL clear of them. Oh, and I only live 15 mins away from them....
  5. This N/A HC is one of Mark Waite's cars in Chelmsford. From what I've seen of one of his cars he sold and heard of him, he seems to be a genuine bloke with a passion for Esprits. Nearly bought an S2.2 off him about a year ago. Missed out on it but in the end I'm glad I did cos I then went and bought my 89SE
  6. Yeah Bibs This was the auction the guy on eBay thought he could make money from by auctioning the details (location, date etc) of it. He was clearly devoid of any brain cells as the whole motoring community knew about it anyway !!!
  7. I'm with Mark on this one Robin. The badge on the nose gives the car its identity to those who don't recognise the beautiful lines of an Esprit. I guess it depends on who you wish to impress... If its the pocket rocket chavs then lob the badge on, but if you only wanna impress us fanatics then leave it off cos it does look good without it Just my 2p worth (which is considerably less than the cost of a new badge )

    Hello

Hi all Bibs & Robin - great forum functionality. Get that PR train rolling and get everyone on here quick. I knew it would take guys south of the river to sort out a good forum. BTW - my car's at Maidstone Sports Cars at the moment for B service and remedial work (thankfully nothing serious so they tell me!!) so thanks to you both for your recommendations - they seem to be doing the business Laters guys
