  1. Haha, I guess your aerodynamic front helps you to come closer
  2. Last week I made an oil change, and had a little surprise: The oil pressure meter was loose. I found out, that the screw, that supposed to be fixed to the can wasn´t. I got a new OPM from VDO installed, and now it´s also not leaking any more Pics will follow... The broken OPM. Everything else works fine. We went on a track (Spreewaldring) south of Berlin on Sunday - just great: - Audi TT RS Coupé - Audi TT RS Convertible - BMW Coupé - VW Golf II with V6 engine - Lotus Esprit Sport 350 On 23. October we´ll have the next track day. I hope for good weather!!
  3. Thanks for the correction. I only had in mind that your Esprit consumes more
  4. Maybe you can ask Mike Sekinger, where he got the seat for my Sport 350 from. They are carbon seats, and I love them! They give good side, and leg support and look awesome.
  5. While trying to install the software, it´s said that VBAJet32.dll had an access violation. I tried to PM you, Peter, but your mailbox is full Any suggestions?
  6. Douglas Valley Breakers might have the Sport 350 seats from the engine burned one! Here is the link: http://www.douglasvalley.co.uk/item.asp?prodid=2723&spg=71&pgid=2 But I guess you have to resaddle them...
  7. I heard, that in the US you also have E25 / E 85 (means, 25% ethanol). Is that right? Günther has experiences with his Esprit and running on alcohol (E85). He has about 10% more fuel consumption, due to the lower fuel value. But it works, too!
  8. I took a look in the Esprit Owner´s Handbook: page a48 The so called "Gasohol" (" A mixture of 10% ethanol (grain alcohol) and 90% unleaded gasoline may be used in the Lotus Esprit.") is the E10. But if there are any problems, it´s recommended to use gasoline. Personally, I mix between Super 95 and Super Plus (98).
  9. A little Update: I made the Main Beam Modification from the LEW (http://www.andywhittaker.com/Cars/LotusEspritGT3/MainBeamModification/tabid/87/Default.aspx), and I´m very pleased with it! After some time, finding the right relai at Conrad, I finally got it. If someone is interested and wants to get the relai from Germany, here is the article number from Conrad: 504403. The enlightment costs EUR 2,80
  10. I guess, driving has to wait due to SNOW.

  11. I had to reinstall my laptop after an infection. Now I have the problem, that while installing, the set-up program tells me, it´s unable to copy some of the files to the folder windows/system32/*** and another folder. Does anyone know how to solve this?
  12. Hasn´t driven the devil in weeks...

  13. Hello everyone, I think, the owner of the car has to comment on this topic, for he has the best perception on what is going on. Which is ... ME ! It is true, that when I arrived in Berlin, I had a problem with the caliper. I guess, I posted it in the Phoenix thread. Günter helped me with that and due to his expertise he percepted a strange knocking from the bulkhead. The problem was, that the water cooling was to close to the bulkhead and had contact, which gave this weired noise. I fixed it quite easily, with Günters instructions. Then there was a much bigger problem: One of the screws of the cam cover just was gone... It disappeared like . Günter was able to fix it with a sligthly bigger screw and a sealing. A real MacGyver-solution, that still works. On my last trip to Switzerland I had the same problem, but on the other side. Till now I only "locktided" it, which no really seals it. The other thing, that gives me a headache is, that the engine is leaking somewhere, and I really can´t find out where from. I had the Esprit on a car jack and checked the sealing of the oil sump (Mike gave me the hint), and tried to look for the lock-ring/oil seal, but coudn´t see anything. In any case I had contact to Mike, who offered to help, and I had contact to Günter, who always helped out. The option to run the car to France is not applicable everytime I have a problem, but I guess at some point, I have to do so - especially for a cam belt check, and the leaking. Mike asked Günter, if he can help out with things, that have to be done, and was also willing to pay him. Günter at some point refused to help me anymore, because the quarrel between the two, and the problems I have had and some of them still have where annoying him too much. To repeat, Mike gave me the possibility to get the car to him, to repair all the small things, but I haven´t taken this offer so far. I really don´t understand, why both have this dispute on such a level... I contacted Mike every time I had a problem, and I went to Günter, because he lives much closer and knows as much about the Esprit as Mike (my opinion). Mike gave me hints about what migth be wrong, and Günter solved the problems. Until now I didn´t take the car to France, because I compared the expenses for the trip with the possible costs, if I let someone in Berlin solve the problem. The trip costs about 500 EUR + accommodation + maut. For 750 EUR I was hoping to solve the problem here. It is true, that at some point I was a bit angry about all the problems that occured. If you buy a car, that is just reborn from ash, you don´t expect to have problems with the caliper or the engine. But I learned, that with an Esprit, everything is possible! If I find the time, I´ll let Mike check it. And I really hope, that you two, Mike and Günter, stop this dispute now. I thank Günter, for his help, expertise and repairs, and I thank Mike for the hints and the offer to get the car done in France. Greetings to everyone, Holger
  14. @ Günter: That´s true! @ Bibs: Could you please sum up the facts until now. And send me the coordinates for a donation. Thank you! I think, the french connection here is quite strong and Mike has lots of indoor-space (I´ve seen it - awsome garage!). So I´m fine with Mike´s place as storage room. In future I think, we have to put up a calendar to manage all the visits in France !
  15. Günter, I guess as long as we don´t ship / transport it by a company, but by ourselfes renting a truck, weight is unimportant (except it´s too much for truck!).
