  1. I can confirm that car has been on sale for nearly 18 months now. Feb 08 I first saw it !!
  2. As you say.... a close call. virtually every car I have had has a problem with matts developing a mind of their own. The Nissan 300ZX had a good solution and the matts attached to the floor with turn screw locks. Very sensible. As for your weather, I woudl happily swap your winter weather for summer in Devon. more rain and gale force winds today!!
  3. mouthful of what ??? bearing in mind the picture, I think that needs clarification
  4. Shame you couldn't upstage them all in teh Esprit Damn those cursed fuel tanks!!
  5. To be honest the idea of reading how relaible they are was part of my cunning plan. The purchaseof my new baby is not going smoothly and reading hundreds of notes from people saying how relaiable their cars are is all part of my pre esprit therapy program and confidence boosting sessions. When you have a dip into the forums you are generally reading about problems on cars (not always but you know what I mean) so its nice to get some positive vibes going (in a non hippy kind of way)
  6. Good work. presumably you have a part time job as a car brochure photographer as well as car polisher!!
  7. While sitting here pondering the problems I am having in buying a car that will run more than 20 miles without breaking I was wondering has anyone got an Esprit that they have never had to raise a spanner to other than routine service? My last Esprit was an X180 and it almost fits into that catagory but I had to put a new alternator on it so a fall at the last post on that one.
  8. These guys have been renting the Elise for some time http://www.exoticcarrentalslasvegas.com/lo...e_roadster.html (and were very helpful as well!!)
  9. We seem to have forgotten the altogether more likely Lotus Explosion
  10. Top pictures! consider selling the pics not the car !!
  11. Oh wow ...a bbq in the garage... now that is the way forward !!
  12. I saw that same car in Exeter a few weeks ago so I guess it must be local
  13. When I sold my last esprit it took about 10 seconds after watching it drive down the road before I got the "what have I done" feeling. Also on those 10 times you drive it, are they not the best times behind the wheel in that year and bring back loads of memories for you?
  14. Much better that it happened here rather than in France !! small consolation I know
  15. was Saturday PM about 2 ish I guess. Well it was good seeing you going the other way !
  16. Spotted an azure blue s4s / v8 northbound on the M42 near Coventry. could have been either, I was heading the other way and I could only see the top of it over the central reservation!!!!!!
  17. Just checked and its defintely tonight ! Its on in HD as well on sky 543 !! OMG the Sinclair C5 is lotus based...I hope my friends aren't watching!!
  18. A very fair point.... Accrding to Lotus' website there are dealers in Cyprus and Greece but thats as close as there is...DOH
  19. As Harry Hill would say.. "there's only one way to settle this.......FIGHT!"
  20. Definitely find a lotus specialist or dealer near the car and pay them to do an inspection before you buy! it may cost a couple of hundred quid now but may save you thousands in the future. The AA / RAC inspections are not up to the job. definitely get a Lotus guy! good luck. and may the force be with you.
  21. OMG really sorry to see that. I remember how I felt when my first Esprit disintigrated. Double shame really as it was such a nice day and you could have BBQd a sausage and had a snack while waiting for a lift.....(sorry)
  22. Thanks for that....on both ! It's great being in the forums now! altough it makes the desire to get back behind the wheel of an esprit again all the more pressing! Fingers crossed I will be a pure blood again soon instead of a muggle on the sidelines!!
  23. Yep...saw that on the DVLA site, so thought it might be alive and well and cared for by one of the clan!!
