I am pleased to see that the forum is alive and doing well. When I owned a Lotus I always complained about Pistonheads and the blasted Yahoo forum in the sense both were antiquated technology. I remember when this forum was setup and was slow to take hold due to resistance of members of some of the other groups. Anyhow, it is nice to see a modern forum now devoted to the Lotus Esprit that will capture and maintain the large amount of knowledge out there about the cars. Best, Ron

Luke, do some foot work and find the candidates as far as external boost controllers go. Point me to them and I'll check it out and install one. I'm tired of being at the mercy of the ECU parameters such as temp etc. It won't be hard to install I'm sure. Ron

I haven't seen any downside on using K&N filters and I've been doing so for 15 years. Good stuff, reusable and work fine WHEN PROPERLY OILED!!! I think there is some information out there about people having filter problems with them but I'll bet they are not used properly. I've never had any failures with them and I know I've got at least 350-400k of miles on cars/bikes using K&Ns. Got one on the Lotus too.

That thing is still down. Well, if this forum is going to make it the time is now - if it can't make it now when one of the bigger foums is down then it won't make it. Ron

Pistonheads seems to be down to me, unless I'm just blocked or something. I was trying to foster some discussion about switching away from Pistonheads for various reasons and one of the things I cited was that it might just go away on a whim. Which, about 30 mins later, it appears to have done!!! Ron

If I were moderating this forum I'd make it so that folks can read the forum without logging in. This is possible to do and will make it more user friendly for new folks. They still won't be able to post, naturally, but just allowing people to lurk and read is important to getting a new forum off the ground. You're fighting against two boards, Pistonheads and Yahoo, neither of which are going to gladly give up their hold on Esprit owners..... Seriously, unless you like alienating a large group of owners I'd change the forum name from UK Espirt Forum to something else, maybe Esprit Forum Worldwide or similar. There are not enough people to go around on multiple forums, it'd be better to have one good worldwide forum for Esprits. Ron
