Hi Gary, I live in the U.S. (San Diego) and I used to own a 1989 Esprit SE. I sold it in 2006 for $20,000 with 47,000 miles on it. Your car has low mileage so it could be in the $25,000-$35,000 range if someone is looking for an SE and is willing to pay. Depends a lot on the documentation and maintenance/work history, and the condition of the engine and interior. Please post some photos! My 89 SE in white/white is attached. . Cheers

Brembo pad question
HowardRoark replied to HowardRoark's topic in Suspension/Brakes/Wheels/Hubs/Steering/Geo
I'm not sure if it is possible to move the calipers or not. I am just wondering why I didn't hear the click on my other 99 Esprit V8 that I had before this one. Any other ideas for pads that fit correctly in the Brembo calipers? -
Brembo pad question

The calipers are located at the rear of the disc on the front wheels. You can see them in the photo above. The click is only on the fronts I believe, from what my tech said. Cheers -
Brembo pad question
HowardRoark replied to HowardRoark's topic in Suspension/Brakes/Wheels/Hubs/Steering/Geo
Thanks Michael. If it really is an issue, I guess I am wondering why the Brembo pads don't fit correctly into the Brembo calipers? And if anyone has a solution? Cheers -
Hello all, I have OEM Brembo pads and Brembo calipers on my '99 Esprit V8 (US). When I press on the brake pedal, there is a loud "click". My tech said this is from the front pad being 'too small' and sliding slightly in place as it clicks in place when being applied. I had another 99 Esprit V8 before this one, and that never happened. Has anyone else heard of this issue? Cheers

Year of the wing
HowardRoark replied to purso's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
Your yellow Esprit has the federal 97/98 wing. In '99, the Esprit went to the higher mounted wing that is attached to the deck lid. Here is a '99 wing..... -
Anyone got beige carpets?
HowardRoark replied to eeyoreish's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
I still have my originals in tan plus a new set that is slightly darker from JAE Lotus in California that they call "honey" color. JAE should be able to send you some and I think they will work well for you. -

Hello all, I had some coolant problems with my recently rebuilt engine for my 1999 Esprit V8 (US), and I read about the Bar's Leaks product on another Lotus site. Question: has anyone used this product to make sure your head gasket was sealed? Do you recommend it? http://www.lotusespritworld.com/EGuides/ETechnical/V8_Liner_Problems.html Cheers!

Thanks Wyane, and thanks Travis for all the detail. My tech did remove the engine and heads, and there was some damage to the gasket, so that will be changed. He also said the rings had shrunk, and needed to order new pistons and rings. After the engine rebuild the first time, I still don't really know what caused the coolant loss, but that is pretty sad if it was a simple $20 header cap. I have another question - has anyone added the "Bars Leaks" product into their coolant to stop head gasket leaks? I am thinking about doing that after the repair, to prevent it. Cheers
