Anyone tracked with wheel spacers ?

Recommended Posts

Looking to put the Mags on at some point now the body kit is here

The rear wheels need to space 17mm but after seeing punky's car with the 20mm rear it looks much better.

Question (possibly Marcus can help ?) is how would one expect them to handle rigors of track use ?

I have 2 options....

1) To make my own from aluminium and use longer wheel bolts

2) To buy them from PUK 20mm rear spacers which bolt onto the hub and have new threads for the original wheel bolts

Slighly concerned about bolting into aluminium esp with 295 tyres side slipping around a track.

Any help ?

Rather not have any suprises after a few corners with the wheel just about holding upto the job...

Rens are they the PUK ones ?

What material are they made from ?

Not sure

they were on the car

car comes originally from germany. i don''t think marcus sell's 30 mm

and the spacers are spacer converters. lotus => porsche size

gives me the opportunity to drive with porsche rims

they are much cheaper second hand than lotus rims

i have 2 sets of wheels

on for track days and one for "normal" street driving

the material is lightwaight aluminium and they fit 100%

Jon

Ramspott and Brandt do a range of sizes from 10mm to 35mm. I was considering some 20mm ones for the rear as I don't want to look too brutish but fill the arches a bit. The 10mm ones are listed as front only, presume thats because of the greater leverage from the wide rears???

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

Hi Jonathan

Got the 30mm on my rears infact I think you saw them at Brands earlier on this year.

As for track use i've had no issues what so ever. They look really good too.

Not sure what material they are I believe they are some high grade aluminium as they are extremely light.

Again i'd ask the guys at PUK as thats where I got mine from.
