Taking numbers and checking them twice....

I think he overcooked it thru Paddock and went hard into the gravel. The rear clam is obviously in need of some work and the upper wishbone and space frame are bent/snapped. Not ideal :)

We also saw an Elise on it's roof and an Exige on fire!

That Fez came back with the engine rattling more than a charity tin :)

Interesting Bibs, I was just about to put a post up on Events about a possible North meeting with this race car series in mind. I know two of the entrants last saturday, one of which I know pretty well. Russ Treasure has the orange Exige and Steve Hibbert has a silver Exige number 12 with yellow mirrors, not the one that flipped.

I was with to Steve this morning and also John Rotherham who is building a V8 Esprit for this series. He should be ready for the alst meet at Oulton Park, Cheshire. This would make a good meeting place and watch the Esprit for the first time. Pete at PNM is also making a 4 pot version which will look like a V8 but will push 400BHP. He too is entering this series but this will be next year.

I have been asked to join there race team which will be excellent news for LEW and LEF members as we will now have another good reason to meet up around the country. Also it introduces Northern venues.

The next meeting is on 8th Oct 2005 at Outlon Park so pencil this in. We have Russ and Steve's Exiges already in this race along with John V8 or if not ready he will bring anyway along with his racing Europa. Pete will also try and bring his to display.

We took a look at the series and are interested in building a racecar for it. The success of F.G.R.C. and a healthy supply of Wedges in the H-Team means we may consider joining in. All depends on funding and support but it looks do-able.

you've got it backwards columbo. the couple jumped out of the bushes and distracted the driver, causing the crash.

they don't all walk around that way, only the pear shaped ones.

did you see the other photos from the lapland drag strip?

Thanks, looks like a great day that! :D

Only my opinion, but this is where Aston got the shape right,

such presence on the road, nice big fat high profile tyres (like

on the G-cars), and a burbly petrol stinking V8 that just smacked

of 'I'm a big sod off british sportcar, and i don't floss'.

;)

Seen this gold one at Castle combe a lot, is one of only a few

cars that look even more desirable in gold!

I get the modern ones mixed up with jags now. Not to say they

are not ace cars, and when you listen to one or stand and just

look at it, it's really nice. But they don't have the road presence

anymore, and they could drive past without me noticing...

:(

Saying that, my favorite cars/music/films/virtually everything

is from decades past...

LISTEN TO ONE?!?!?!?! :D

My Ex GF's Dad had a DB7 Vantage (V12)

Her bedroom was above the garage and every sunday around 6am he would go down to Worthing to visit his Father. Well... *every time* he started the car it sounded like World War III had jsut broken out!. Once I peeled myself of the ceiling I would realise it was just her dad starting the car!

I also seriously love these:

(not *entirely* sure of the differences between the Virage and the Vantage? V8 & V12? )

I think they are the *ultimate* pimped car (and you don't even need to DO much to it!)

Anorak data found!

****************************************************

Vantage

As with many other Astons, a high-performance Vantage model of the Virage would later appear. First shown in 1992, the Vantage was produced from 1993 through 1999 and, like so many other Aston Vantages, soon became the only variant available. Indeed, the Virage name lasted just a few years, with its final descendents inheriting the simple and familiar V8 name.

The design was freshened, leaving only the roof and doors of the car intact. The Vantage was wider, appeared lower, and used four round "grapefruit" tail lights. Like the 6.3, the Vantage used record-sized 362 mm (14 in) brake discs.

The most radical change to the Vantage, however, was inside the engine compartment. The 5.3 L engine now sported twin superchargers. Power output topped the industry at 550 hp (410 kW), and torque was equally impressive at 550 ft

Ferrari Assed and wheels of an RS turbo. Nice reflectors in the bumbers

(had some like that on my bike when i was little). Rear quarterlights and

screen look like a Nissan 200sx. It actually has the same side indicators

as my van. Unforgivabley, the wheels are too small for the arches (on an

aston!!!!). And the fog and reverse lights look like they were positioned in

a 'pin the tail on the donkey' competition.

Don't care for the colour either :D

Sooner have a pair of the old ones and some change ;)

So there :(

Guest teigan

as i've said repeatedly, bicycles are better engineered than cars. there should be bicycle style reflectors spinning on every wheel, a thumb lever bell strapped to the steering wheel, streamers on the wing mirrors, and bolt on training wheels for the teenagers.
