HJ2's 2013 Evora S IPS: a gathering of upgrades & repairs

Keep us posted HJ 😉

PS there is also an M100 section on TLF, some names of which you will also recognise from the LEC forum. It's worth checking into both every now and again as someone will undoubtedly need your M100 skills and experience.

Alignment.jpg.1525aff87f6faad6c9e5b2cff1d9fe61.jpg

At the time of the purchase I noticed that the tires were old (DOT 3416) So I started saving up for replacements, probably  P4S, we'll see. Also I will go for 10mm wider on the rear.

Besides the tires i noticed something else must be wrong at the first encounter with a Ford Fiesta ST on a mini roundabout.

I knew my tires were less grippy so I took things slow, but at the roundabout every fiber of the car insisted in going straight, resulting in rather hefty under-steer. I almost went straight, missing the road. (insert brown underwear smiley here...) I swear I could drive circles around this Evora in my old M100!

So one of the first jobs was alignment, always a good idea when you have a new car and change all 4 tires.

I took the car to a local racing specialist (Beek Racing in The Hague) who works with Hunter equipment. As the manual says something about adding weight in the car to simulate the driver, the first thing we checked was what alignment would change with- or without this weight. The changes in readout were negligible, so we did not bother with that anymore. It appeared that alignment was terrible indeed.

If i recall correctly I used Evora 410 spec. for the rear and increased camber in the front a little. (I will post the report here when i stumble upon it)

This transformed the car and now it is eager to steer in as it should, even with the hard tires.

First job done.

I now really need to learn how to drive this thing through corners
