Help! my car has been turned into a £100k Brick...

Has anyone had any experience with having the media unit (central screen) swapped ?

My car had a few niggles which didn't work from handover which they diagnosed swapping the media unit would fix. Instead, the car has been sitting at Lotus Colchester for 5 weeks because the new media unit won't talk to the car and the car won't talk to the media unit making the car undriveable.

Currently chasing through the Escalations team but the comms/solutions from Lotus Technical in Europe/China, Hethel and Colchester aren't producing a solution.

The only silver lining is that at least they put me in a BMW 5 series as a courtesy car instead of the godawful Hyundai Tucson that I had when they were diagnosing it.

@Bibs if there's any of that 'people you know' magic you can sprinkle, it would be much appreciated (or some contacts for more senior people at Lotus that could move things along).

thanks, Paul

Just reject the car. They have been given a fair opportunity to fix.

There is nothing to be gained by just kicking the can down the road waiting any longer for a fix. I think 5 weeks in more than reasonable and with the cart being unusable and indeed undriveable, what can they say?

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

All sorted today. Lotus Technical in Europe were able to force down some sort of software update.
