Oil burn off / leak?

just curious about the engine oil burn off..

just seems my S4 has low oil fairly often and i do not see any bad leaks on the garage floor. I do

get a few drops though...

what is normal oil to miles burn off? and what is your reccomendation of oil weights and brand?

My S3 used oil, i figured it to be due to age.

Turned out to be cracked piston, once fixed

it never used a drop of oil.

My SE uses no oil between services (3000 miles).

My SE is at 55,000 miles.
