Oil temp guage

Well the oil temperature sender is located on the oil gallery which is under the chargecooler and pretty hard to find on your car - someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Could be a wire off of the back of the guage which means taking the binnicle off...

Yes - from the diagrams the sender is well hidden.

I suppose once you find the sender, disconnect the bugger and put a meter across the connection- you should read something (resistance wise) to the gauge end.

I'll try and test this out this weekend.

I get around 20 ohms across the sender connections (cold). Bugger to get to.

Zip the other way cos it goes direct to the ECU. You'd have to find the wiring leading back from the gauge - quite tricky. Or simply remove the binnacle - which isn't as hard as you may imagine. Just take your time and don't force anything.
