Insurance prices!

My renewal has just come through £339.

that's myself & 1 named driver on the Turbo Esprit (with modes declared), Excel and S3. I may add the Europa to cover for theft, but because it's not entirely locked away it will have to be a "live" car not laid up. Unlimited mileage.

Looking back to my post of Oct 2008 (so assume that's Aug renewal) it was around £300 then, and I think it was £300 +, so £40 increase over 2 years, circa 13%, or 6.5% per annum, not bad considering all the horror stories over insurance premium hikes.

Just added the Europa and the price jumped by....... £12. I did take the other Excel off, I had left it on as it was cheaper to do that than pay an admin charge and get a refund of premium.

£356 incl tax for the two esprits (one with mods), the Excel and Europa Special. I checked with Peter James and it was £341, I couldn't be bothered with the paperwork for the few £s, since the service from Footman James has been great and I have used their breakdown cover and found it worked really well.

Just paid £497 with Heritage. not bad considering I had a big crunch in 08, I have 2 speeding convictions and the car is kept outside. Cover includes UK & Euro recovery & Roadside repair, and legal cover.

Renewal through today from A plan - £429 fully comp including Class 1 business use,. No mileage restriction. Plus legal and windscreen cover and commission £489. Its down about £150 since I bought the car two years ago. I guess turning 50 and another year's no claims has helped.
