Springs and dampers

Recommended Posts

Afternoon all,

Have removed my springs and dampers off the rear of my S2 and have my SJ dampers and new springs ready to go on. Problem is I'm having a nightmare trying to push the top of the damper into its slot with the spring compressed and the spring rubber seat all flopping around. Is there a knack to this or is just a case of brut force?

I'm struggling............

Paul

If you have the Pro-tech shockers you may need to file the tops at an angle or they will foul the tubular section, stopping you getting the retaining bolt in.

I would do a trial fit up without the spring and make sure you have a good clearance at the top of the shocker.

Hope this helps

Matt
