Red S1 on the Scilly Isles

I've just been watching an episode of the second series of 'An Island Parish' on BB2 which is all about the various people who inhabit the Isles of Scilly. This series was filmed in the spring of 2008.

Tucked away in one of the large boatsheds on St Mary's was a red S1 reg TWE 200S.

Judging by the amount of stuff that was stored on and around it and the lack of a tax disc since November 2004, I'd say it was resting...

Lotus Esprit TWE 200S (024G) featured every Friday night on BBC2 belongs to me. It`s not the first time it`s been on the TV as it was also featured quite a bit on BBC "Vets in Practice" when Joe Inglis owned it.

You`re certainly right it`s resting. Last winter we had it as a very useful workbench while that programme was being filmed. It does drive and is perfectly usuable on the Scillies as no MOT is required.

It is very tatty but original and unmolested with original engine, box, single lift headlamp motor, central ashtray and tartan interior. It is outside now awaiting me doing something with it, I had the wheels refurbed and new tyres put on it last year with the intention of using it as a tatty "rat look" Esprit but being such an early car I think it deserves a full restoration; it`s pictured elsewhere on this site I think as my mate took some photos of it, it`s the one I sprayed "007" down one side for a laugh.

It needs a total respray anyway thats why I 007`d it
