I think it says in the manual DO NOT blip the throttle before turning off. Because the "Bang" has potential to damage the turbo. It's un-combusted fuel igniting under heat. I've been tempted to up my air correction jets, but at all normal running the mixture is fine.

My girl has been known to throw a 2 foot flame from the exhaust when changing down at speed, but i thik this is quite normal isn't it?

I notice Bib's picture on his profile does the same

hi, i dont think a normal carb turbo should backfire when turned off. have you had any work done to the car recently? Could be anything from to rich a mixture in the carb or ignition timing to cambelt timing and a cracked exhaust manifold. can you give any more background details? cheers chris
