A 44lbs. deep cycle battery? No thanks...

If you think you really need a deep cycle, then look at the Odyssey's. They generally weigh in around 20lbs less than an equivalent Optima...

Yikes....

I had no idea those batteries weighed so much....all I wanted was for my battery to last a little longer so I don't have to charge it all the time in the winter...

Maybe the redtop battery is a better way to go???

Hey Fellas,

Anyone currently using a yellow top Optima battery in their car?

If so, what battery model number are you using?

Thanks a bunch

I've been running a yellow top D34/78 in my S4s for over two years, and it's by far the best battery I've ever used. I sometimes don't drive her for a month and the Optima has always started first time - also haven't needed to mess with a battery tender etc.

As for the weight, can't say I noticed a big difference in the regular vs the Optima when installed. Got mine off EBay (new) for $105

I fitted an Optima Red-Top model 34; it fits perfectly in the factory location and the factory hold-downs and cover fit fine. Best price and shipping (USA) I found was from Summit Racing.
