Paul, Rob and I need to confer regarding the route.

It will need to be slighly redesigned as we will be starting off from Heyforde Pk this time. We will also test it out for Esprit friendlyness... and then draft a driver guide.

Once the route is finalised we will publish it here so you can download a copy. We will also work on a tentitative timetable.

We will probably do this after the Donnington meeting.

Dermot,

Is that Heyford Park, Upper Heyford/Cherwell ?

A Talk on the Esprit Gearbox upgrade (supported by Lotus) has been added to the Oxford Meeting on 23rd April. Derek Bell will give a short talk on the upgrade and for those of you who have spoken to Derek or heard him speak at a previous Oxford Meet, he'll be going over the improvedment that have been made to the kit recently.

This is a very important upgrade for our community, as there are no more original gearboxes left. Also any increases in power on the V8 require this upgrade due to the extra torque.

Read more about it here:

Mark, you have to come to this! I've never met you though we've spoken many times and would love to meet you. I've owned 4 esprits now in the past 3.5 years whilst your car has been off the road. Pull your finger out matey!

Hope to see you there!

Dave

Hey Nigel if my car is ready I'll think seriously about going down to this meeting... work has started again on her and my target is donnington so end of April sounds doable and it's almost on my birthday too so would be great to go down south in my pride and joy..

It's Heythrop Park, not Heyford.

See here http://www.heythroppark.co.uk/

Vicki,

I know we finish up at Heythrop, but Dermot in his post suggests we're starting at Heyford(e) Park. Checked the net and Heyford Park is a track circuit just outside Upper Heyford and close to the M40, so not too far from the intended destination.

No doubt all will become clear the closer we get to the big day itself.

See ya there,

Graham.

We're starting and finishing at Heythrop this time. Heyford Park is not involved. Check Kato's first post in this thread.

Dermot is just getting all mixed up. Probably from chemical fumes or summat.

Put me down as a maybe.

If possible I would like to meet up with the North of England contingent on the way down , although I'll need to leave  about 0200hrs. to arrive at a decent time.

Mmm.......think I'd better order a new timing belt and assemble my emergency tool kit.

If anyone else from Scotland is thinking of going down (titter , titter) please contact me.

Will not now be going.

My wife insisted I should go , but I told her in no uncertain terms that there was decorating to be done in the house (roof repairs etc.) and I had spent enough money on the car lately.

I think she knows where she stands now.

Why not let her come to the meet in your car?

That way your car gets to make the meet but without the inconvenience of

you having to be there as well. Using this option you could also let her drive

to donnington while you clear all that crap out of the gutter. I mean you've

gone on about it enough times and it won't unblock itself...

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Not sure if I'll be attending this run but I was at the September 2004 run with my father in his Esprit and I just want to say to anyone who is unsure whether they should go or not and that is to GO!!!!! you'll have a day you'll always remember and it is such great fun!

Are you having lunch and have you paid? Please add your name to the list.

Thanks

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

PAY!!!

If you know you are going please pay in advance as it really does help.

I've run events where people opt for the 'pay on the day' which is fine,

but when you have paid a four figure sum upfront, it nicer to be paid in

advance than to be sat in a go-cart with hundreds of pounds cash in

your pocket...

I think Rob needs a big cheer too for continuing to run

this despite (currently) not owning an Esprit. Top Man.
