Steering rack boot replacement

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, New proud and Happy owner of an Elise :-) well, the deal is almost sorted. Love the Elise! Miles and miles better than a Porsche...

Quick question, how easy is it to replace one of the boots (gaiter) on the steering rack? It is torn and wont pass road worthy (MOT) like this. bit of research shows that the steering rack needs to come out to do this? Can it not be replaced with the rack in the car?

Thanks in advance, Hope to be able to help someone else in the future...
