DONNINGTON: DISPLAY PARKING

toplogo.gifSUNDAY 19TH MARCH Donnington-merge-small.jpg

(this is not a thread for how we get there, please use OTHER thread for that)

Alan Morgan from club lotus rang me this morning about sunday 19th.

He's offering us the parking area in front of the Lotus only carpark.

This is a line of parking in front of the venue where cars park facing

the main carpark nose on. Its the strip in front of the Blue fence in

THIS photo.

This will not park us all ok, but is part of the main Lotus only parking and

will not split us up in any way. Alan has yet to sort out how much is needed for

disabled allowance, but it seems there will be between 20-30 spaces.

30 spaces will of course be less than half our number, so it's up to us to decide

how to use them. Not parking there will not affect your day, as you can see in the

photo it is still in the Lotus area so we will still be together wherever we park.

Suggestions?

Mine is that we try to get a few different models up there for him.

I agree Paul - It would seem sensible to try and get one of each model there to show the line up.

I'm happy to 'donate' a Sport 350

So here you go copy this bit and add your name. Please only add your name if you are certain you will be there first thing as CL would like the display for when the show opens. If your model has gone then you can park in the main car park. If I've missed a model out then please add it.

Just thought, I've not got it back from PNM yet so perhaps I shouldn't volunteer my S4 just yet.

yeh but mine is a nicer colour! ( imo)

If there is anyone local to Donington that will be there early on Sunday,

then Alan at Club Lotus would welcome someone to help instruct the parking

people what to do, and to keep the spaces free until the Esprits arrive etc.

Let me know and i'll give you his number.

Who know's, you might even get your name in the next CL mag!

might be a bit cheeky but what about asking if we could get both this area and the first row of the actual car park, we could then try to create two identical rows of esprits which would act as a fantastic welcome tunnel for everyone arriving to the show!

What we are offered will be difficult to keep other cars out of.

If we can sort ourselves out and fill that it will be really something,

bagging sections of the Lotus only carpark would be IMO inviting all

the other models to do the same next year.

Lisa won't be there first thing. CL are going to reaserve the line so we

don't actually need someone there, but i guess it would help as the Donny

parking people have a history of sending mondeos into the lotus parking...

Had Club Lotus not phoned me, i expected us to all just head for the

Lotus Carpark, has always worked out fine and does not require any

fencing off, bunting, parking attendants etc. I'm told Alan i'd throw it

to you lot and see what you could do with it.

Have added in the X180 / Stevens NA / Esprit / Esprit HC (call it what you will!) to the list so that I can play too, if I may...

Note i'm editing all onto the list on the first post.

Will make it easier to see who's doing what.

Jon, as soon as you know for sure, then say mate.

Til then the GT3 slot is open.

If Jon can't make it I'll be there early Paul, but happy to step aside for attention seekers. I'm the shrinking violet/wallflower type unfortunately..which seems at odds with driving an orange car I know!

By all means Mark, infact yours will be more standard than mine becuase of the wheels (does it have hte decals too?) - I won't know if I can make it until I actually arrive rofl

I only suggested it becuase the lineup was looking a bit thin on the Esprit front, I don't care where I park tbh just getting there will be a treat B)

Ditto, hope the weather is better than today. Mine has got the sill decals, but the jury's still out on them. Helps stop stonechips if nothing else. My 8 year old son has offered to remove them.

Leave them on - don't see too many GT3's with them. Personally I quite like them with the orange as well which was kinda synominous with the GT3 being the press car colour.

Would very much like to offer my S3T but until I get to sort out the oil & fuel leaks and change the cam belt she's not going anywhere.

Not enough room in the garage to do any work on the car at the moment so it might be a while.

Put me down for next year, she'll definately be there then!
